I use Rev-Match on my GT and went to downshift without it once and it seems like I couldn't get the right blip/timing of the throttle to make it nice and smooth for a downshift. I'd like to manually rev match but for some reason I just can't make it nice and smooth. On my focus st I had it was really easy but for reason on my Mustang I keep falling a tad short. Is there some sort of programming that could be possibly hindering me or is this simply skill issue? Lol.

I have issues with heel toeing in the s650 i have to rotate my foot sideways to do it. its a mater of timing shifts and slowing down the 6 speed has rather long gears.

It’s the rev-match programming that is hindering your practice.

try slowing your shifts just a tad. Try thinking of it like this: an automatic only has two pedals but a manual has three. Automatics have a stop pedal and a go pedal, manuals have a go pedal, a stop pedal, and a how fast pedal. Just because the clutch is engaged doesn’t mean it needs to immediately be disengaged. Feather the clutch just a bit until you get a feel for the friction /engagement point.

I used Rev-Matching in my 2019 6 speed but found it really deteriorated my shifting performance so I turned it off....never turned it on in the 2022 car and back to shifting much better......for an "Elder Driver"!!:like::wink:
