Anybody know why we needed the ECG-24.2.5.6.2 update?

CAN actually stands for Controller Area Network......I believe CAN means Chassis Area Network. While on this subject...
CANs are obviously digital in nature, which means their third order harmonics are rich, and extend well into the VHF region. For this reason, they're the bane of amateur radio operators. For non radio operators, these harmonics are the main reason a lot of vehicle manufacturers have switched to FM/Sat only (no AM) radios.
My engine sounds a bit different after the update.Am I crazy or does my car seem to be shifting differently since I got the update?
Why?I got pulled over after the update
Boy o’ Boy, what an Update!!!Got me drifting down a hill in a 35 zone. Clocked me at 45. Gave me a warning
BOO!Got me drifting down a hill in a 35 zone. Clocked me at 45. Gave me a warning
CAN was designed by a team led by the Bosch researchers Siegfried Dais and Uwe Kiencke. But I've never seen it referred to as 'Chassis Area Network' in any of thier published specifications.Bosch was the original user of CAN. It was then what I called it.
