...I'll have to see if one of you Brissie Forscan guys can toggle my gear indicator on permanently :fingerscrossed:
That's an issue at the moment.
FORScan is Russian software.
With the war, their Russian payment channel was frozen and no longer accepts payment to register the software.
You can register a 2-month trial for free, but I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

You need to register the software before it will write to the car.
Otherwise it's read-only.

I've read in the past (possibly here, or on 6G) that writing to the car could introduce warranty issues. This is something I want absolute clarity with, in writing, from my dealer before I consider tinkering.

I can appreciate the concern a manufacturer might have.... with any knucklehead coming along writing any old values whilst experimenting, not having a complete understanding of what they're doing, or how something might have unintentional consequences with another module/functionality, and compromise the driveability/safety of the vehicle.

With apologies to any knuckleheads out there. :giggle:

this should help: Enable Continuous Gear Display in FORScan (IPC 720-12-01 xx*x xxxx xx--) change C to E
also if u are worried about warranty you can just reload asbuilt settings before going to a dealer and they wouldn't know
also i got 2 moths trial version, works great, already changed welcoming light sequence

I usually use custom mode - sport steering, sport exhaust, TC and ESC on, stop/start and lane assist off.
Sport mode if I'm doing some "christian motoring" with or without ESC/TC if it's dry.
Or, normal mode, normal exhaust, stop/start off, lane assist off, comfort steering.

Now that I have my car and understand a bit better how the custom driving modes work, I was wondering what everyone else enjoys.
Obviously the car defaults to the "normal" drive mode at startup. For everyday driving, do you guys just leave that alone, or do you switch to a custom mode of your choice? If you have a custom mode you like to use, what settings do you prefer?
At the moment, I've settled on a custom mode which is essentially normal mode, suspension and steering with the Track mode cluster. I then have my favourite button tied to track exhaust mode which I tend to use more often than I should admit. Curious what configuration others are using.
I am still enduring the interminable wait for my 24.5 (which was on the Torturous Tortugas), however I set my 21.5 GT to Sport Exhaust and Steering for regular daily driving ( in "My-Mode") and sport everything on a trip.

It's more the digital speedo that I miss on these clusters, mind you, having an auto I don't have the gear indicator anyway - unless it's in manual mode. After this recall saga is sorted and Ford do their update, I'll have to see if one of you Brissie Forscan guys can toggle my gear indicator on permanently :fingerscrossed:
Thats funny - my 21.5 FN Auto GT has the Gear Indicator displayed at all times when engaged in Drive or Sport regardless.

Your Dealer might be able to offer a fix - worth a complaint / enquiry.

I have the car booked in for its 3k service and recall update, so I was going to ask the question while I was there to see if they can do it.

Apologies if I missed it, but how do you cycle through your custom modes.
From what can see is only on the screen.

The mode button on wheel lets you select Custom but how do you get to settings 2-6?

Thanks.

Got to go to mustang on main touchscreen. Then pick the custom mode you want to run. The steering wheel will use whichever you are selected in my mustang until you change

Having the Favourite button set to turn exhaust into quiet mode is pretty handy.

Have passed 3 cops lying in wait on the side of my local roads over the last 4 weeks - switched exhaust off and trundled past them pretending to be an EcoBoost :)

That's exactly what my Favs button does - exhaust to quiet. :like:
Irrespective of the quiet start schedule, I will leave home in quiet, and let 'er rip when I'm a few street away from home.

Nice one Deano, if I ever get my car I must remember to do that.

I did that to start with, then I discovered the quiet start schedule and set that to between 6.00Am to 8.00AM, and set favourite to track😎
