Yesterday in Mitchell, SD the high was 32. I could have driven the Mustang yesterday, but chose to drive our Ford Escape because of scattered slippery spots on the highways from a glaze of ice that we received recently. Then, there is always salt on the highways, and roads in and around towns. We put on a little over 100 miles on our Ford Escape yesterday. In South Dakota Icey roads, snow packed roads, and salt on the highways are all part of the winter driving experience.
On the last day of fall, December 20th, our high was 14 after an overnight low of 2 above zero.
Road salt is the bane of my driver existence. Our roads are a light gray from December through March. I get the need, but it is overused IMO. Destroys roads, cars, gets all over shoes and clothes. Hate it.
Here in the Denver area it’s been in the High 50’s and 60’s.
Up in the High County they have several feet of Snow .
I use to Ski but my body has played tricks on me!
