15 screws, two larger Christmas tree push rivets and two other 2-piece push style plastic rivets. that's it. Easy peasy.
For a filter …. Ugh but guess it’s ok since only needs to be done once a year? Up down on off shield flapper ugh.. frigging wrong plug for that hole. Why not consistency of connection? Why screws, trees, and pins, why not all the same since it’s a service part?

The rivets are used to support the panel in the correct orientation WHILE you install the screws.

Again, it's not a big deal. If you own a cordless ratchet wrench, it takes less than a minute to remove the screws and not much longer to put them back in when done.

But if the rumor is true and can be done via wheel well….

You're gonna soak the panel with oil that way. I've changed my oil (not a rumor) and I would NOT try to R&R the filter that way.

So i performed my first oil change today. Oil looked great. Odd looking black Ford Motorcraft filter was on from the factory. I did the work on my low profile Rhino ramps which made it tight under the car when trying to turn my body around. Electric ratchet made the 15 7mm screws easy. Push pins a PITA even with the correct removal tool but I have an Amazon kit that had the sizes I needed.

I used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Plus and a Motorcraft filter.
No BBQ tick as far as I can tell.

I'm sending a sample to Blackstone. I changed at 2,223 miles which is longer than I would have liked but life got in the way.

Next time I'm going to install my jacking blocks and use them as it's too tight under the car when it's on ramps. It was so freaking hot and humid today I couldn't wait to finish up.

So here is the promised follow-up on my first oil change.
No BBQ tick.
Here is the report.
