Welcome to the hobby! What is best is subjective. But, there are many sizes and scales. I personally like 1/64. There are many S550 castings out there.

Local Walmart finally had a few. A couple solid color and a few with racing graphics. I plan on leaving one stock and will custom paint the other one. I was thinking maybe a copper/tangerine, depends what's in the box of paint.

Jada 1/24 - Finally getting around to custom build. They tear down rather easy, only difficult part was center mount on rear spoiler. There's no access pin, it's glued, Exacto will cut it no problem. The good news the front nose cap is diecast, typical of Jada, others usually plastic. Will Jada tool up a GT nose and offer more colors? The clear glass is rather disappointing, not crystal clear, foggy. Nice quality for a toy, not collector quality or expected for $20. I still haven't decided on exterior and interior colors. It's sitting in stripper, hopefully casting will be descent.

Horse of a different color
Here's a WIP photo, first color coat, next a wet sanding. It will be followed up with another color coat and some clear coats. The interior will be light gray and white. Still working out the exterior details and other coloring. Front lower spoiler, rear spoiler and rocker panels...leave gray, paint silver or black? As for hood haven't decided on that either no striping, custom striping, coloring? The black thing in background is a custom build for friend of his 45th Anniversary Edition Camaro. When Ice Pony is finished I'll post photos.
