I'm going to miss that warm, fuzzy feeling of being patronized . . .

No, I can't, because I don't participate on those shatholes.
Agreed, imo complete missed opportunity. At least let ‘techs’ ‘unofficially’ pipe in. You know, the type of ‘group’ account monitored by a ‘help desk’, but level 2 at least, level 1 is nothing more than a directional aide. They could even include a disclaimer in their sig ie, noted ‘officially unofficial’

Before you go does the factory oil fill include XL17?

@DarkMatterGrey ....not so sure about the XL17 - I assume you are referring to the additive that some speculate prevents the BBQ tick that appears on some Mustangs after the first oil change? I have not heard of the BBQ Tick happening when an owner uses FULL synthetic and prefills the oil filter. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if Ford did use a break-in factory additive but then why wouldn't they market it and make some cash?

Many owners have reported the tick over the years. Some use full syn, others the blend. Make zero difference. Same regarding the filter. Some have it from the get go, other after the first, second, or third oil change. There is absolutely no pattern. It just is.

That’s funny! Ford would never, ever, answer this kind of question. Many oil related questions have been asked over the years and all we have heard from Ford is crickets. They are not going to admit anything.
