I have an order for 25 vert out there. Has anyone used your dealers offered ceramic coating treatments as well as their interior treatments? First time buying a new car and not sure if I should go third party for something like this.

I would not recommend going through your dealer for "treatments". Usually a crazy scam. Better to ask around or check Google reviews for companies that specialize in such things.

I agree. Probably have some young kid applying it who doesn't have a clue about what he's doing. Should be plenty of "professional" choices out there besides your Ford dealership.

I ordered my 2021 GT Premium and had the dealer do the ceramic coating.

Within like 2 months I noticed the beading started to disappear.

I went to a pro shop that does this stuff as their bread and butter and they laughed a little and showed me how quickly they can buff/polish off a dealer ceramic.

I had them redo the work and it was perfect. So much so that I'm having it applied to my 2024 Dark Horse Premium right now actually (literally, like today).

If you really want to get a great finish on your car, send it to a reputable detail shop that does high end cars.

They will do a decontamination wash and get all the rail dust off the car, then probably clay bar it, then do a quality ceramic treatment

Interior? If leather keep it conditioned with a quality product, get Weather Tech liners for the front and use them except when you are at car shows then take them out. Interior plastics and surfaces get mild soap and water, and more often than not just damp cloth wipe downs.

IMHO YMMV

The treatments are basically free….what you pay for is a warranty. Junk all around top to bottom.

FYI it's not difficult to DIY. I did mine with Cquartz (first time) and it turned out really nicely. There are also spray on ceramic coatings that can last a year or more.

I’m an Adam’s guy and love their ceramic coating it beats the heck out of most shops. My ‘21 Z4 still beads and doing the same to my ‘24 GT.

Dealer Ceramic Coating is one of the biggest scams going. As others have said, go to a detail shop that is reputable and you will get a way better job for not much more

Yup scam I got it done and they were done in 30 minutes. They literally sprayed on a single coat of spray buffed it off then charged me 1000 bucks. I took it to a local detailer where I spent another 2k and he did everything. It took him 3 days. Then he used it for a flyer lol

Dealerships don't do ceramic coating -- they farm it out to some local shop that's likely run by a bunch of morons.

Do nothing like this through the dealership. Do you research, read reviews, and get it done by the right folks.

Please please please don't pay for the dealer to do this. Some do this just fine, but most don't. At the end of the day, offering exterior and interior protection products and packages is about generating more income for the dealer, achieved by extremely high markups.

While exterior ceramic coatings offered by the dealer at least have some merit, it's the interior protection packages that are the biggest rip-off. Also, you should never apply a ceramic coating to leather, or any interior surface. In most cases, they just apply something bought by a local chemical distributor, slap it on with no prep and then ask several thousand dollars for the privilege.

Exterior -
If you do want to get the car protected and are not confident doing it yourself, I would be looking for a reputable detailer in your area. In particular, have the exterior ceramic coated (paint, trim ect). I would also highly recommend having the wheels coated as well as that is one area where a ceramic coating will have a clear advantage over other forms of protection. I would probably skip a glass coating and just use an easily applied glass sealant or combined sealant/cleaner.

Easy Glass Sealant, Glass Sealant/Cleaner Combo -

Gyeon Q2 Quickview | Car Supplies Warehouse – Car Supplies Warehouse (sealant)

Opti-Coat - Opti-Glass Clean & Protect | The Rag Company (combo)
CARPRO | Clarify PH₂OBIC- Hydrophobic Glass Cleaner – Car Supplies Warehouse (combo)

NOTE - The success or otherwise of exterior coatings comes down to the prep put in before its applied. That includes decontamination washing, polishing and pre-application prep. A reputable dealer will know this and the price of what they offer will reflect this. If a vendor is offering the service at a significantly lower price than competitors, then they will be cutting corners during the prep work.

Interior -
Just keep it clean with an interior detailer such as ADS Pilot, Carpro InnerQD or P&S Swift.

Interior Detailer (mild cleaner, mild UV protectant) -

CARPRO | Inner QD Interior Quick Detailer – Car Supplies Warehouse
ARMOUR DETAIL | Pilot - Interior Detailer – Car Supplies Warehouse (my current favorite)
P&S | Swift Clean & Shine | Car Supplies Warehouse – Car Supplies Warehouse (great if you want a little more dressing potential)

Leather -
For leather, clean and apply a protectant every few months. I have linked kit forms as they have everything you need.

GEIST | 3 Care Kit | Car Supplies Warehouse – Car Supplies Warehouse (you would need the "MINUS" version for new leather)
CARPRO SkinCare Leather Kit (carpro-us.com)

I have a beginners product guide here -
Beginner’s Buying Guide: Washing & Detailing Essentials List | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1)

And if you are unsure about anything when talking to a detailer, feel free to reach out via PM if you need. There is a lot to take in, especially if you have never dealt with coatings before.
