Hypnotized by the suspension. Hard to go forward when looking back. Get the impression he’d rather be driving a racecar than stuck in a suit. Add a camera and show it on the screen so he can look forward and see what’s behind. Go go gadget. It will be interesting to see what trickles down though.

Can’t wait to see what trickles down from the GTD to future mustangs
Call me crazy, but we know Ford wants to expand the mustang brand. Does anyone else think Ford developed the GTD to partially see how people would react to the idea of an exotic mustang supercar?

If it's well received, Ford might greenlit some sort of next gen mid-engine platform and make that investment if they're confident that people will respond well to a 6 figure mustang supercar. A way of dipping their toes in the water before developing a completely bespoke platform.

I could see that happening, and that makes me excited.

I think the GTD is the Mustang supercar. It would be pointless since we have a Ford GT.

Or is it a godzilla about to spawn a multitude

Due to recent events, wouldn't the cost of a GTD to the final consumer reach nearly $375,000? I'm very curious to see how many of the allocations will actually end up being sold.

edit: Multimatic is a Canadian company: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimatic

I'm not so sure that Ford products will get jacked up in cost. From what I recall, there was talk about some exemptions. I'm looking for some data to back that up, but what I found so far....
From the WSJ...

WSJ said:
Finished cars and auto parts that aren’t made in the U.S. Parts that comply with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement will initially be exempt, until the Commerce Department decides how to levy tariffs on the “non-U.S. content” of those products.
I could be WAY off on this, but my gut is telling me that if American companies (Ford, GM, etc.) start feeling pain from this, the admin will rip those tariffs back real quick. I couldn't see myself wanting to pay DH money for a GT, so if prices spike, my Mustang purchase will be delayed.

Edit - If they do go into full effect, we could see sales numbers crater. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the potential sales figures of not only the GTD, but the next high end trims that are in the works.

Yeah, I can't really find much data to dispute your take at all. That worries me.

If the lotto angel smiled on me I'd get a GTD. Just for scarcity value as much as anything else.
The big catch is, I doubt there'll be a RHD version. So that means another house where they drive on the wrong side.
Starting to be too many zeros in the equation.

I wonder if there was anyone who had an allocation and was on the fence about affording it but now it’s out of their ballpark
Stangmode almost certainly. He had an allocation, but was on the fence because he'd have to sell all his cars and finance a significant portion of it. Plus he was acting all pissy about the GTD vs. Zr1 specs. My guess is he's no longer interested.

Yup, and YouTuber I follow called TheDriverMod took himself out of the running as well.

I tried to get on the list to get one, was completely ignored. I was unofficially told that you need to be an "influencer" to get one. I have zero online presence and can barely influence my wife to make supper.
Whatever.
There's always the Z51 vette which is just a touch over $100K and comes close in performance. But then I'd have to buy some old guy clothes and drive around slowly in a long line of vettes to go for lunch at a cheap restaurant and most certainly never take it to the track. I do like to take my car to the track so that's a tough one.
