I tried to get on the list to get one, was completely ignored. I was unofficially told that you need to be an "influencer" to get one. I have zero online presence and can barely influence my wife to make supper.
Whatever.
There's always the Z51 vette which is just a touch over $100K and comes close in performance. But then I'd have to buy some old guy clothes and drive around slowly in a long line of vettes to go for lunch at a cheap restaurant and most certainly never take it to the track. I do like to take my car to the track so that's a tough one.
Yeah, the whole allocation process for these limited run cars is stupid. Even a system where they went to the highest bidder would be more fair.

the influencer thing is dumb

I think that highest bidder thing will eventually be the end game anyway, just a slightly skinnier version of the Ford GT. Unless Ford subsidizes certain buyers in order to gain market visibility these cars aren’t going to be used in a normal sense anyway. They’re just gonna be another Barrett-Jackson curiosity and nobody cares about an extra 25%, if it even comes to pass.
