I know it seems like a silly question.

But I have a 2024 GT Premium. Which has the welcome lights dance and the car unlocks when you get near.
Which led to me think since it has proximity unlock, it must also have walk-away autolock.

However, I have walked away and the car does not lock itself. My $22k 2019 Civic had walk away auto lock. How can this $55k premium trim not?

I am reaching out here in case it is buried in the settings somewhere and I need to activate it and must have missed it?

You guys with Premiums, how do you lock your vehicles, considering it has proximity unlock feature?

You can activate it in FORScan. For some reason the car’s settings don’t display the option by default.

Correct. I/we detailed it in the FORScan thread. However, you need a Job 2 car with an updated BCM.

However, the only BCM update has NOT been sent via OTA yet. I updated it myself using FDRS a couple months ago.

I enabled walk away lock (WAL) last week. You can enable the feedback (horn) when WAL locks the vehicle, too.

For some reason the car’s settings don’t display the option by default.
Because something is still missing.

While I was able to get Sync to display (also using FORScan) WAL, there was a problem. You could enable WAL with FORScan and add the toggle to the display under Vehicle / Locks, and you could then disable it with the display, but you could not enable it again with the display -- it kept throwing an error message.

I re-enabled WAL using FORScan and I won't disable it via the touchscreen. We purposely did NOT include the changes needed to add this to the display (for now), either. Once there is a solution to that, it will be added to the FORScan spreadsheet.

I just touch the door handle to lock the car, or I use the fob. Guess I'm OCD, but I like to know for certain the car is secure before I just walk away.

I just tap the lock button on the door handle because I don't like digging the fob out of my pocket. You should hear the click and then see the little red light on the inside of the door blink to let you know it is in fact locked. Pay attention to that because I've had a few times where it didn't lock on the first try.

You can enable WALAF aka walk away lock audible feedback (independent of WAL).

The horn will sound once when you reach ~13 feet away and it locks your doors.

This is something I'd like to see @Ford Motor Company address. I like the idea of a walk away auto lock.

I also touch the door handle and listen for the "click". I would like the auto lock. My understanding is that it can only be enabled (currently) via FORScan.
