100% That was a big reason why I decided to order one and endure the wait time. I almost gave up on waiting since my order never actually got built, but luckily I found the spec I wanted right before I was about to get a GT.
Oh, OK. I was confused because you said, "I almost went with a GT because I really just want to supercharge it. " Makes it sound like you wanted the GT to supercharge.

Ooh. Yeah, no that was poorly worded. I have always wanted a supercharged 5.0.

There is always going to be people looking at cost/performance ratios, and there will always be people willing to pay a premium for the high-end trims.

This isn't even a Mustang specific topic, this is the same throughout every automaker's lineups. There is a market for people who don't want to spec things out, they want it fully loaded.

Stop the hop should have been a goal of S650 from the factory. Instead we got glued on iPads.
You got nothing. According to your profile, you don't own one.

The dark hose handles a bit. Enter than the GT but acceleration is a wash. DH too heavy.

I haven't noticed a similar comparison, but I'm attaching some files published when the Mach rebooted; these highlight the main differences.

There are practical considerations, such as drivetrain components. For someone wanting a factory-built, warrantied, integrated system of performance components, the DH might be the best route. For someone tracking more often or building a race-only car, a DH might not make any sense at all. A stripped-down GT could be better, then purpose-built to suit their needs. It depends.

Then there are the subjective reasons, to include the uniqueness. It's why someone buys a Z0# or an 8-series when they'd rarely exceed the capabilities of a more available model. Countless reasons, most often specific to those individuals.

I cannot speak to pricing on the S650. I've never attempted to do a GT-to-DH $ comparison. Thirty large is a huge step up for any person, any make and model.

That comparison does not include the GT with the Performance Pkg - which has the same suspension inc sway bars, Brembo Brake Pkg and Tyres as the Dark Horse (although the Dark Horse has wider rims, and more oil coolers)

I just don't like the front end of the DH as much as the GT. I added wider tires/wheels, subframe connectors and a stop-the-hop kit. I'm still under $12k from a Dark Horse and I couldn't be happier with it on the track.
In the end, I went dark horse. I wanted all the little things that add up on the track as well as the tremec. The biggest factor though, I just thought it was cool? Granted, I didn't have to pay a markup either.... so that was nice.
I went through a similar exercise with my 2018 GT, modding the suspension and adding 4.09's. Then I test drove a non-HP Mach and will never forget getting back into my car and driving away and thinking holy crap does that Mach handle better. (The Tremec was really the main draw for me at first.) I know it's not easy to find one and even harder to get a test drive, but people making this comparison really should drive a DH before making up their minds that a modded GT is just as good.

There's also something to be said for presence and appearance that a lot of people want to dismiss. Getting a DH because you think it looks better than a GT or just because you want to is real, no less a part of the decision than horsepower or lateral acceleration numbers. Personally I'd have liked to see the DH styled differently than it is, and more visually different than the GT. In a way I'm glad it's not because I sniff around from time to time and don't want to be tempted to double my payments :cwl:

Its @ $200 a month (60) more for a DH. 10-12k delta
Hmm doesn't quite work that easily for all situations... depending on trade equity and such. I looked at a DH HP Tremec a few months ago and with my equity in the Mach 1 and 4,000 miles the payment was going to be more than double. The cars weren't different enough to make me want to go that route.

Somebody PLEASE start another PPF thread. This thread is
Dumpster-Fire-Prop-1-800x800.jpg
Was this image from some sort of firefighter training? We used to do similar stuff back when I was a probie.

The backgound seems to have a jerry can as the accelerant and there is water all over the pavement around the dumpster; the exposures on 3 of the 4 sides seem pretty clear as well.

I've got old man eyes now however that bottom right, behind the dumpster, has something peaking out? Could also be a 38mm attack line with a nozzle ?
