Inconsistent exhaust volume? Mustang GT

I know start up is louder and then quiet down as the rpms go down and that's fine. But even during driving it seems like it will a nice deep throaty rumble real nice and loud but then randomly quiet down sometimes the same driving session. I always have track mode exhaust on.

Kinda annoying and even my son complains about it, "aw it's quieter again"

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression only the Ecoboost's had ANC
