I bought new side mirror caps for my new side mirrors. The mirror caps come in primer so you need to paint the caps in the right color.

These is how I received my mirror caps.
I have no clue if I'm beeing picky or this is just normal when painting these caps.

I don't want to make a scene at tje bodyshop if this is something that is very normal. So based on experience of you guys I can decide If I should go back or not.

All the spots are from dust particles and two paint drops. The paint drops are nothing for me to worry but I think those dust particles shouldnt be there.

As much as I would say go in hot, you will more than likely get better results with a more diplomatic approach. In no world is that an acceptable job, and honestly it shouldn't have gotten past whoever does the QA once the tech was done with the work.

Hard to find good help these days! :frown:

I'm fuming and on my way back. I'm trying to keep my head cool.

So I went back, my body was furious but just like Vileknight said, stay diplomatic.
I'm very bad in hiding my emotions but I think I did a good job this time.
Stayed very calm, explained the hundreds of dust particles and some bigger dust particles that you can see from miles away.

The guy from the reception stayed calm as well, and that helped me to keep myself under control.
I knew for 100% that if they said the following:
- Nah, this is normal, or
- That's not a big deal, you are making a scene for something small, or
- We can do it over but you have to pay again

That I wouldn't be able to control myself LOL.

I could see that he was not amused, but he stayed professional and took the mirror caps in.
He didn't apologize about their work, but he also didn't tell me that I was wrong.

This company always promote themselves on Facebook with very good paint jobs.
They are known for respraying a whole car and they show proudly pictures of their artwork.

You can paint a whole car with no dust but 2 simple mirror caps look like trash?
I think they just did these mirror caps as a side quest, just in between their main job and didn't take care of the drying process.

I think they let the mirror caps dry somewhere near a sandy children playground LOL.

I'd say the 23yr old kid didn't get the promotion on that one...

Holy cow ! How embarrassing for them.

Well, I'm not from the US, so prices are different here.
That would be roughly 230-250 Euro.

Edit - I stand corrected.... EUR has gone down a little. That would be about 180 EUR. Math on a friday evening is hard.

I'm from Europe but I'm here on a small island iin the Caribbean, where there is not much to choose from. Wish I was in Europe right now, than this would never happened.

But ehh, the Euro has always been stronger than the Dollar, except for a few months.
1 Euro is 1.09 USD right now.

In 2008 or 2009 I remember that 1 Euro was 1.50 USD. That were the good days.
