All the installation videos I can find, as well as instructions don't mention the removal of these braces. These braces utilize the front two holes on either side on some Mustangs but it doesn't seem like they all have them.

The BMR installation instructions include a picture of the braces with the note "If you are using the stock K-member, you will need to remove and discard the wheel liner braces pictured in IMAGE 1a."

Leaving these brackets on doesn't seem right as it makes the jacking rail sit low in the front and the rail doesn't seem to sit flush (it's angled where it meets the bracket). As I was pulling the bolts out it seems there is A LOT of tension on the brackets.

There isn't a lot of information in the BMR instructions on how to remove these. I assume Ford put these there for a reason. Has anybody else removed these? What is the procedure for removing these and does this affect anything other than bracing on the wheel liners? Any experience is appreciated!

Steeda jacking rails didn't require removal of these. Just a small trimming of the underbelly pan.

@roadpilot Are you referring to the full-length rails or the "low profile" rails that look like they are flat stock where they share those mounting holes?

I also have Steeda full length rails. No parts are required to be removed from the car. Just a little trim of the felt and they bolt to the body.

Did you have these brackets attached to the forward mounting holes?

I installed the low profile jacking rails last weekend. I had the brackets on my car, but was able to get the bolt to catch on the driver’s side with an impact gun. The bracket was under some tension and I had to push up and to the center of the car to get it to catch. The passenger side went on easily!

Yes, I left them on the car since the Steeda rails don't require them to be removed.
