I don’t think a cold air intake voids a warranty. Especially if it’s a reputable company and properly installed.

Ford doesn't care if it's reputable and won't verify if its properly installed.

As for the warranty being voided...thats a little strong. But I'd say they won't cover anything pertaining to the induction system once they pop the hood and see that.

I think it just depends on how cool the service department is that you take it to. Some won't say a word, others will probably refuse to work on it until you return it back to stock. I put one on my Bronco after I added the FP tune and had a brake light pop up. At first they told me I needed to return it to factory before they would look at it. After a couple of conversations about it, they relented and worked on it.

Honestly, this will depend on your dealership but if ford gets involved in on site diagnosis its game over. Here is what Ford says:


Damage Caused by Alteration or Modification
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover any damage caused by:
• alterations or modifications of the vehicle, including the body, chassis,
electronics or their components, after the vehicle leaves the control of
Ford Motor Company

• tampering with the vehicle, tampering with the emissions systems or
with the other parts that affect these systems (for example, but not
limited to exhaust and intake systems)

• the installation or use of a non-Ford Motor Company part or software
(other than a certified emissions part or software) or any part or
software (Ford or non-Ford) designed for off-road use only installed
after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford Motor Company, if the
installed part fails or causes a Ford part to fail. Examples include, but
are not limited to lift kits, oversized tires, roll bars, cellular phones,
alarm systems, automatic starting systems and performance-enhancing
powertrain components or software and performance “chips”.

Your vehicle may allow, enable or facilitate the use of certain non-Ford
Motor Company software. Ford is not responsible for the functionality
of such software. Ford may disallow, discontinue or modify your ability

Looks good, just enjoy the mod. Keeping a car stock is boring. As for the gains I doubt you'll have any but not all mods are done for gains. Nice work

This was my thought too. The numbers that any company claims they make is probably way over inflated. I went with the kit I found best looking. I only drive 5 miles back and forth to work and some joy rides as it’s my 3rd driver. My other Mustang is 23 years old and only has 28,000 miles, this is on pace for less..lol
