Hi. looks like i’ve got same problem as you have. After start up, these noise and shock comes immediately from underneath the car. Wonder where it’s comming from and why these issues are happening. Just guessing it’s from the transmission and feels like it isn’t normal.
Have you found the cause of the problem?

Hello. No it doesn’t jerk. There’s only shock. I always do those sequences before stopping the engine.
My sequence is switch to neutral from drive or reverse and pull the e-brake and let go of the brake paddle to let the car settle on it’s own weight then press the brake again and switch to park.
And this shock problems comes up almost more then a half times when I start up the engine
Not sure why you carry out that sequence? Just put into park and stop the engine.

What you are doing when you stop in neutral and then put on the brake means when you put it into park the parking pawl is trying to engage but there is no slack in the transmission because the wheels are locked (by the brakes). Just put into park first, then shut down, then apply the parking brake. You may find the sound is then gone on restart.

This is what the manual says:

Although your recommended order is contrary to the cited source.

Park, brake, off - or otherwise known as, come to a complete stop, while holding the brake pedal depressed, change the transmission gear into park, while continuing to depress the brake pedal, engage the park brake, upon completion of park brake engagement release pressure that is applied to the brake pedal.

on start up - depress brake pedal, release park brake, while continuing to depress brake pedal select transmission gear, release brake pedal

Hello everyone,

first time posting here. I was wondering if any other s650 owner has this problem. Almost everytime i start the engine, immediately after, a KNOCK noise comes from underneath the car. Not sure what is it and im kinda worried. Hope you can help.

Mine does jerk at startup in Park, in Neutral with No bakes applied, it will jerk 5 seconds later.

I only get a clink/knock underneath the rear passenger side once I put in drive?

Hello,
Is there any updates on the topic? Mine does it only if I re-start the car within a few minutes after shuting off the engine. But if the car was off for few hours it starts normal without any issues.
