I’m installing the 1 7/8” Kooks LTHs. I opted to use the stage 8 bolts and locking clips that come with the headers instead of the OEM studs and nuts. You can’t use the OEM studs in certain spots because of clearance issues and my OCD wouldn’t let me mix match fasteners.
My question is how do you get the locking clips on the top manifold bolts? I was able to get them on all the bottom bolts relatively easy. I just can’t position my hands well enough to hold the lock plate in place while getting the locking clip in there.
My plan for now is to just run it with the locking clips off the top bolts. They’re all pretty easy to get to from the top of the engine, so I can tighten those as necessary. Has anyone had issues with stage 8 bolts without locking clips backing out or loosening?
