Taking a posted 35 at 70 might get schporting. Ok, life starts at +20 and goes up from there.
Treating a 45 like a 90 does have a tendency to activate that mode, yes, match drive mode is a statement not a question. Oh, yes i see the updated edition has up to .. and then something about reckless but seems they left that mode out … oh custom hhhmmm…

All right, I think I got a fresh new question for anyone who has knowledge on this. You know how dealers will sometimes offer or (if they're shady) even sneak in add-ons like interior protection? Is there anything besides a Ford Protect Extended Service Plan (PremiumCARE specifically) that may actually be worth considering?

all Ford ESP (extended service plans) are best bought thru Granger's "$50 over cost" deal. Or make your local dealer match it.

Since you don't drive, you'll run out the clock on the factory LONG before you even get to the mileage limits. So in your case a 10yr 50,000 mile probably applies. Should be pretty cheap.

On that note ("since you don't drive"), what are your thoughts on leasing or lease-to-own for a GT? Worth it or not at all? (Again, just thinking out loud here.)

Is there anything...that may actually be worth considering?
No.

While a dealer might match price on an item, I doubt the quality or craftsmanship of that work will be the same what you find on your own.

Several dealer add-ons aren't necessary. Others, while they might have a practical purpose, will use poor quality materials or be installed in a haphazard fashion.

Regarding the ESP, you can wait on purchase. An ESP can be bought any time before the factory warranty expires. Granger Ford will offer you the best deal.

In summary, I'd pass on everything. "Just the car, Thank You."

If you're interested in anything mentioned at signing, you can ask us. While we'll have our preferences, we are a non-interested party.

Happy to see you updated your profile pic.

Edit,

"This is the only time we'll make this offer." Don't believe that. If your research confirms that dealer is offering a fine deal, you can always return and purchase. They will not turn down a sale.

Thanks Skye. It's my goal. Whether it happens next year or beyond, it's what I'm working towards. ☺

what are your thoughts on leasing or lease-to-own for a GT?
I have yet to see a lease deal for a Mustang that wasn't garbage. So even if you come in VASTLY under the term mileage limit, you're still out an outsized amount of money. And no bank is going to believe you if you tell them you drive <3000 miles a year.

Personally, I'd rent a GT (automatic only) from Enterprise when the bug bites.
The rest of the time I'd get a 10-15yr old Civic, or bum mom's car. Or a 250cc motor-scooter.

I'm trying to figure what your limitations are. Do you not have money? Owning/Buying a "new" or performance car is not a cheap endeavor. And if you're not gonna drive it, what then is your value function?

I'm sure you can find more productive use of $400-500/mo than watch it sit rusting quietly in the garage...

1. Good to know.
2. I've considered the new Prius. It's more appealing now that I've discovered I can do and enjoy solo road trips. That said it did struggle a bit when passing vehicles at highway speed.

What else would be an engaging, yet fuel-conscious roadtrip car? (Besides the EcoBoost, obviously.)

3. Hoho, let's see if I can do this without going TMI again. I have "sufficient and then some" and I'm plenty aware owning/buying a performance car ain't cheap. For the record I do plan on driving this GT a lot more than my EcoBoost when/if the time comes, along with some subtle exterior mods if they're feasible.

4. Racing sims aren't as engaging as actual driving. Track racing "exotics" (you know the places that offer those experiences) would be fun, but I feel it'd lose its charm real fast if I did it every month. If I could make that amount per month just test driving cars, I'd definitely consider doing that. All that said, I'm in no rush to get a GT...I've just found it more personally engaging/nostalgic than other vehicles I've test driven so far. That's all.

You should just get the Prius…especially now that you’ve discovered you can do solo road trips.👍

a civic. stick shift. no really. Or the Accord.
Or any of the Kia/Hyundai N-series. Hell, even the base Elantra isn't bad if you are injudicious with the throttle and you put some decent tires on it. There should be LOTs of Gen6/7 VW GTIs out there now+soon and they are a gas AND seat 4 adults, AND haul cargo. The Mustang pales by a mile in practicality.

Thank you very much for your recommendations. What are your thoughts on the Mazda3 sedan? (I'd consider the hatchback if it wasn't for its huge blindspots.)

It's a perfectly suitable sedan. I LOVED my Protege 5. The GTI has way more power but also price tag to match.

I'm revisiting this thread now that the '25 model year prices are out.

The GT California Special is still on the top of my list of cars I'm considering, with the 10speed, Active Exhaust, and Oxford White as "must have" options. With that in my mind, I have some new/possibly old questions.

1. If I finance with Ford, what are usually considered good/exceptional rates over five or six years?

2. How much does X-Plan typically take off on what I assume is the total cost of the vehicle?

3. Why can't I just settle with a fully loaded Prius or Mazda3? (Heck, I'd consider the GR Corolla now that it's likely it'll have an optional automatic...)
