I run a front plate on mine it's the law wear I live. It gives the cops one less reason to pull you over and harass you.

There are a couple solutions out there so you don't have to drill into the bumper. I have the Sto-N-Sho brand, expensive but has a quick release for shows or washing.

Move to North Carolina :like:

I lived in NJ most my life so I get the pain. No way around it.

I just don't run one and I have been fine in my 10ish years of Mustang ownership. Way more Tesla's in WI without front plates than DHs. I know it is technically required, but doesn't stop most people.

Ford gives you the mounting bracket for free if your state requires front plate... by far the easiest and best looking (it is centered and doesn't block sensor in lower grill)

If I place it at all, I rest it on the dash. Everyone in my area without a front mount does same.

I've never been pulled over, questioned about it or been hassled over it.

IMO, LEOs, at least in my area, are encountering much more significant issues than a missing front plate.

YMMV.

put it on the floor behind the driver's seat. when pulled over, say it came off and you are waiting for a new mount. Worked for me for 50+ years.
I have 4 cars and 3 have never had a front plate. I think over the last 10 years, only paid 2 tickets.
Windshield gives a reason
y’all are asking to be f'd with. I’m glad you have been relatively citation free over the years, but decades ago, I got spanked with exactly this infraction, after a deer strike; I had my plate on the windshield and procrastinated on reinstalling the plate bracket. Once was more than enough, because it was an unforced error.

If it works for you, great. If you’ve been fortunate so far, also great, but if you give them an excuse to stop you, pretty much everything is fair game now.

If it’s in the windshield you ‘admit’ you know it needs to be displayed. If it’s not there they need to read the rear to determine it’s missing, why do they have a reason to get that close?

I'm not about to drill any holes in my car so I got a plate bracket that screws into the front tow hook on ebay for 30 bucks. Can be easily removed it need be.

just put the freaking plate on with the standard ford plate holder or use one of the ones that screw into the tow bracket. just be aware this might block one of the sensors on your bumper

It's a mass market car, not a work of fine art.

If the cops stop you, you are asking for trouble. It also means that if they are in a bad mood, they can pile on with multiple citations. Speeding, missing plate, etc.

don't give them yet another reason to stop you.
