You know we don't need them released yet to know they are gonna sell very poorly compared to their V8 counterparts they replaced. I bet none of you know a single person interested in one, thats a huge sign right there.
They have more issues than that they also have to sort out too. Rumor has it they’re getting V8s soon just to try and recover, but who knows how that’ll pan out.

They’re probably hemorrhaging money trying to redevelop that thing after a rough launch.

True story, I have a feeling if they don't figure it out soon they'll be a brand of the past.

I honestly don’t even know how they could figure it out without re-absorbing Ram.

We talk about all these different ways the Mustang could stick around, but imagine if Ford broke F150 off into its own brand. Dodge doesn’t even have a Ranger/Maverick competitor to help keep things afloat while they restructure things around the Charger. 😂

I agree with you on that. It’s just a very fragile thing to navigate for Ford. It’s one of those things where there are examples on the market, but they were done way different than how Ford is doing it.

Like you said, if it wasn’t a 5.0 with an auto you would consider the GT instead, isn’t that the point though? Not you personally but for this brand exercise, you would want everything to be different enough to stand on its own, but lacking in some ways where you need each variant (coupe, sedan). A lot of people would still buy it but you limit stealing Mustang sales. I want to see what you say first before I give an example and an ask a question, cause I’m curious on your take.

Blackwing supposedly isn’t going to be around much longer anyways from what Cadillac said at launch.

Yeah I see that. That’s why I was thinking more of the Raptor type engine lineup to differentiate.
I tried thinking how to differentiate the Mach-4 from the regular Mustang last night, but couldn't come up with anything besides improving the build quality and fit/finish substantially. From a casual perspective I would also hope the Mach-4 is more reliable long-term versus the Mustang.

Oh that’s a good point. Lol. That’s probably a huge one I haven’t really thought about, especially since it also has to attract the normal consumer outside the enthusiast.

I have another question though, purely hypothetical of course I just want to see what you think.

If the Charger comes out with the V8, both body styles, and the sedan sells enough to where Dodge kills off the coupe and reintroduce the Challenger on a smaller platform, what would you think?

Also, if Chevrolet came out with the Camaro as a coupe and reintroduce the SS or just made a Cadillac with a NA V8.

As far as I know it’s not happening and like we said Dodge has its issues, I’m just curious. I was thinking about it the past couple days when my friend asked me about it. (He has a Camaro LT1)

The chance it will get a V8 is very slim. Between the major re-engineering and the fact that even if they started today it would not be out until 2027 at minimum (meaning 1-2 year before the EV stuff is put back in) and the fact that California is saying no ICE after 2032 means that there is probably not that much they can gain from shoving a V8 into that narrow engine bay.

What I found VERY interesting is that they are upgrading the battery tech...MAYBE by the 2025/2026 model year that would result in double the range and less weight and less cost. Yeah, the launch was bad, but I do see promise in it...but it's still a heavy car that feels really heavy in the turns. (current Daytona scat pack)

There was a mule I believe that was spotted in Mexico.

Yeah I agree. For them they just have so much crap going on. They should’ve put it on a smaller platform. I saw that thing in person and couldn’t believe how big it was man.

I would absolutely love a Chevy SS remake. I almost traded in my old vehicle for it and I still kick myself that I did not. NA V8, CT 5 size, etc...but it won't happen because they won't want to lower the CT5 sales and there is just too much overlap there between it and the CT4 from plain through blackwing to put in an SS

I almost got one too. When I had my son I had to get rid of my Mustang and I tried to find one of those or the Focus RS. Every dealer around me was overcharging. My 1SG got the one and I was jealous. 😂

Yeah I agree I’m just curious, let’s say the regular CT5 V gets the V8 instead of the twin turbo v6, what would you think about it? So starting about 58kish

Yep, that thing is huge. To put in in perspective
it's only 9 inches shorter than the 1972 thunderbird (207 vs 216 respectively) I learned to drive in, it's .7 inches wider at 80 inches and 7 inches taller at 59 inches. It also weighs 5767 vs 4596, so 1200 lbs heavier....and I thought that T-bird was a boat

Dodge doing that would be an interesting, bold strategy. My main question would be if this smaller Challenger would still use retro muscle styling or go for a more modern design that isn't just "smaller, better appealing/proportioned Charger" (although I wouldn't mind that). Speaking of smaller, I would be more intrigued if they made a foxbody-sized car, called it the Neon, and then crammed a big ol' V8 in that and had it compete directly with the Mustang. Would never happen (or they'd call it the Dart to get muscle car nostalgia going), but it's a goofy thought I had last night. Also, could you imagine if the current Charger had the classic Charger's dimensions and proportions?

I'd welcome the Camaro coming back if it had outward visibility similar to the S550/S650. SS alongside it would also be welcome, but I'd prefer a different nameplate like the Chevelle or Commodore...or if you really want to turn heads and get people talking, call it the Corvair. 😖

The reason why I’m asking is would it raise any eyebrows with what Ford is doing? Like would you look at it and wonder why they would create a whole other car instead of continuing the Charger coupe and maybe adding something else? And yeah let’s say it’s retro but kinda retro future. Like this

and same with Chevy, let’s say if it is a Chevelle (I agree way better name). Only gets a N.A. engine, an etc, but wasn’t a Camaro 4 door. Would you find it interesting? (I’m not stuck on the name per se just saying the differences like name, body style, transmission, engine options)

like I said it’s hypothetical because those brands are so dumb it’ll never happen. 😭🤣
