I have placed an order for a 2025 GT. I note that Ford is starting to offer paint protection film, including a matte finish option. This is something I might be interested in, but did not include it on my build sheet.

Does anyone know if this is a factory-installed option, a dealer-installed option, or just a product you can buy from Ford and install after you take delivery?

Also, the price, at $5k approximately, seems like a lot. Is it fair for this kind of product?

I have it on mine, you need to shop prices in your area for full body Ppf. In my area the cheapest. Quote I got was 6800.00, so it was cheaper to go with ford. They do it at the factory and it comes with a 3 yr 36k warranty.

I love the look of a matte finish. Just not sure how easy it is to clean and maintain. $5k seems very reasonable to me for a complete wrap.

Mat PPF should be just as easy to maintain as clear. Do a search for Paint Protection Film. There should be several shops that do it in your area. Be sure to see a completed car, maybe even talk with a customer who used the shop. It takes skill and experience to do a good job. Some places are kind of sloppy. Expel makes some of the best film and will have templates for the Mustang. $5K for the job seems about right.

And it’s hard to give you a quote because it’s area specific, it was more expensive in my area than what ford is charging. It’s it’s the same price I’d have probably gone with ford anyway as they did a fantastic job on the car. My gaps seemed to have been better than most so it looks like they did it with the car blown apart.
