Anyone picked up the MBRP Armor Pro Active Catback and can speak the volume it produces ? i was originally waiting for the Borla Atak to be released but when i heard the videos online (i know in person is different) it completely turned my off to it. Had Corsa Extremes and Roush on my last S550 so i wanted something else. Ive never used MBRP before and since it's over 1k cheaper than the Corsa and Borla active systems i was a little wary of fit and finish. I also was wondering about volume. I like a loud car and i'll probably put headers on it when tuning is available so i'm curious how this compares to competition in regards to volume. Any and all help and input is appreciated.

The MBRP is definitely not going to have the build quality of corsa or borla, but the race does sound awesome in person. I had corsa extremes on my S550 and wanted something with a little more low end volume and bass, so I'm waiting on Roush to release their active sytem for the S650. What was your experience with Roush vs Corsa in terms of volume/sound?

I'm in the same boat as you. I wanted more low rpm volume so I didn't have to pound the gas to hear my 2k exhuast system and that was my problem with the Corsa Extreme. They sound absolutely amazing at WOT but are very tame at low rpm, which I'm aware is the selling point of the system but I want to hear my exhaust all the time. So I switched to Roush and a double X pipe. Sounded great until I added headers. It hit another level of loud with that setup but not good Loud, just pure brutal volume with little sound attunment.

MBRP sound pretty good but I dont know if I trust their long term build quality…I think sound and quality Borla S Type and AWE Touring would be on top of my list especially when drone is an issue that gets old very quick to the point having wished not to buy certain loud and raspy setups…

As mentioned, MBRP quality isn't up there in our opinion with Corsa/Borla. Its a great bang for buck though. IT will produce volume though. We have these in stock and can make you a deal on them!

Hey there!
I'm awaiting a customer to install their setup so I can gather a better opinion, but basing it off previous cars, I would bet it sounds great (with stock headers) and fits very well.

I've thoroughly enjoyed their 304ss entries and find it to be quality. I've personally installed a handful on S550s.

Let us know if you decide to pull the trigger.. the active exhaust let's you hit everything from quiet to wild.
