I don't have the HP, but several posts here shared that the gurney flap should be installed for track use, not normal daily driving.

Welcome from Michigan.

Welcome from Michigan.
I like the look of the Gurney Flap, I'm sure it slows you down a bit in 0-60 times, but can't be that much.

I like it, too. But I thought it was more of a safety thing, not a 'slows you down' thing. Again, I don't have the HP, so I don't know for sure, but be sure to check it out.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe it’s a safety thing. It adds downforce in a way that will help you on a road coarse but limit your acceleration and mpg on the street. The acceleration penalty shouldn’t be noticeable in the seat of the pants feeling. The mpg penalty might be 1-3 mpg depending on your driving habits

I read the thread about the Gurney flap also it was interesting stuff to know it surprised me. However I run with mine on all the time I just think it looks better. I have not noticed any real problems.

Congrats on your car!

The Mustang Dark Horse comes with an available Gurney flap, which is an extra plate attached to the rear wing to help generate additional downforce, as well as three vertical plates coming off the under body near each front wheel called strakes. The strakes help disrupt airflow generating greater downforce on the underside of the vehicle, which can help the car stick better in corners at higher speeds.
