The summer only tires aren't going to be usable much of the year around here. I could just put some all seasons on the factory wheels like I did on the S550... but I think I want to go bigger since this wont be a daily driver like the S550. It seems that wide 19" tires have a very limited selection and all are summer only. Going to 20" gives much more choice of all season tires. Is going to lower profile 20s going to ruin the ride?(have magnaride). I have found some wheels that I like... 20x9.5 F and 20x11 R. Thinking 265/35 (27.3") front and 305/30 rear (27.2"). I chose those because they were closest in diameter to the stock tires (27") to keep speedometer reading close since it may be a while before we can change that in the ECU. I can run 275 in the front with the 9.5" wheels, but 35 series would be 0.6" larger than stock and 30 series would be 0.5" smaller. Would one of these be a better choice? I thought maybe the smaller diameter may be the way to go. Am I going to notice the 0.5" difference? Or is there a more preferred setup? Car is being built this week, so I need to make up my mind. Thanks guys.

I will pass a warning on to you. My 96 mustang was the first car I owned with low profile tires. It's also the first time I had problems with the tires cutting on road hazards. I pretty well solved the problem by running 35 pounds of air instead of the recommended 30 pounds. These tires are not radical compared to what is available today as the are 245/45/zr17.
Also when I first received the car, the tires had 45 pounds and the ride was rough. Once I dropped the pressure, the ride improved a lot.

On the S550 on the 40 series tires you definitely feel the bumps... hoping that the magnaride will help. Test drove a Mach 1 a month or two ago with magnaride (similar low profile tires)... it did not ride like my S550, it rode more like my cadiilac!

Love the AS Michelin PS4s. Worth every penny and better on a cold rainy day than the summer rated Pirelli P Zeros on a hot summer day.

I ordered Continental DWS06 tires in 265/35-20 F and 305/30-20 R... but the rears were on backorder and not expected for two months. I can't be driving on the summer only tires in December, so I got some Pilot sport all season 4 tires instead.

Might be a little more expensive than the Continentals? But well worth it, IMO. They stick very well and run very quiet. I've been impressed with treadwear too. I wondered how they can be stickier than Pirelli summer tires, but also last longer. Michelin just has a great compound.

The milage warranty is a bit less on the Michelin. I had the PS AS3+ on the S550 and they were great... currently trying the DWS06 on S550 to see if they get a little longer life on the wife's daily driver. I am sure I will be happy with these as they are supposed to be an improvement over the AS3+.
