hi, all new to the form. Just ordered 2025 GT with the performance package. Super excited cannot wait. Wanted one my whole life. Thinking about installing a radar detector with a blend mount off of the rearview mirror. But I am concerned overtime it pulling the mirror off of the glass. Has anyone had any bad experiences with the blend mount on the mirror. Going to use a Valentine 1 GEN 2 detector. Thanks for any help.

I've mounted a Gen 2 on mine, being cheap, I used the V1 mount. But I discovered a little trick.
It's mounted right under the camera housing, and I thought it was a bit obvious to thieves, cops, etc. So I had a dark tinted glass phone screen protector and I tried sticking that to the screen, and the suction cups to that.
It worked a treat. It has stayed put on the screen, being dark you can only see the detector front plate from outside, and it looks like a factory fitting.
PS. The V1 is quite light, having a magnesium case and chassis, I don't think it'll overload the mirror mount.
PPS. The Gen 2 is a fantastic unit. It's saved my butt so many times now.

First off welcome to the forum. Youā€™ll find much better and much more reliable discussion on here than you will on Facebook lol.
Second, youā€™re in luck because I have a fulll write up on installing a blend mount with a Valentine 1.

Finally, youā€™re going to love it! Itā€™s so comfortable when you want it to be and so mean when you want to push it. Please take advantage of the safety features like adaptive cruise with the active lane keeping (if you got the A10)!

Interstellar canā€™t thank you enough. Thank you for the warm welcome as Iā€™m new to the form. I find everyone on here is genuine and passionate to their Mustangs, which is fantastic. We all have a product to be very proud of. You really nailed it on explaining the Radar mirror mount and hardwire. Your instructions are precise and very easy to follow with great warnings of not damaging the plastic cover housing. I would like to share with you a recommendation for others who are going to do this as far as the Allen wrench. These anre called Allen drivers/ball mount.

These make getting in tight areas extremely easy opposed to the conventional Allen wrench. I know I have a lot of them. I used to do this for a living. They are sold from snap on all the way to Harbor freight. I apologize. I donā€™t know the exact size you will need as I havenā€™t received my Blend mount yet, as their advertise built in the USA I would think itā€™s going to be American size Allen if somebody already knows the size please post it.
Thanks again for all the help and a precise, accurate insulation article.

The camera housing cover is a PIA. even being careful I broke one clip holder. Superglue seems to have fixed it.
