I'm new to the Mustang GT and have a couple newbie questions.

1) When I'm in track or Drag strip mode, I've noticed that the throttle cuts off completely when I floor it and reach ~5000 RPM. Is that normal? I only have some suspension mods, nothing that would cause this.

2) Second question, I've noticed rev matching doesn't work until roughly 15 minutes into a drive. The rev match is enabled and no other settings changed (including cold start). I like manually rev matching but like auto for the convenience, anyone else experience this?

Appreciate any insights, thanks

I have a GT PP manual. Short answer is no. Cut off is at 7300. Rev match works 100% of the time.

Perhaps the oil isn't up to temp yet?

1st gear cuts off at 5000 RPMs, and the vehicle is warmed up and still doesn't rev match until approximately 15 minutes into the drive

Rev Match worked perfectly right out the gate when I first got the car. I thought I had accidentally messed with the settings but I don't see anything that could have caused this delay

Take it to the dealer. Should not be doing that.

Hey folks,

Solved the issues without going to the dealer. Looks like the result is me messing around with settings and not fully understanding what I did. Doh!
  • Shift indicator was set to 5000 RPMs, thus cutting off the throttle.
  • Rev matching was fixed by factory resetting the vehicle.
