I am new to this website.
I ordered a 2024 mustang premium GT convertible race red November 8 and I still don’t have a build date as of September 30. ( 10.5 months)
When do they stop building 2024 and start building 2025?
I hope I get a 2025 for the agreed price of the 2024 contract.
Does anybody know why there is such a delay for this vehicle?
also, is there any difference between the 2024 and 2025?

Did you ever get the order confirmation email from ford? I ordered mine July 7th. It just arrived by rail here in Denver. Should have it this week.

I did talked to the dealer a month ago he said they may give me a 2025
they don’t know what the delay is.
I don’t want to push it now because I don’t want to get the last 2024 I would rather wait for the 2025.
this will not be an everyday driver.

I don't have the exact end date, but Ford is very close to ending production for this Model Year (MY).

It looks like your order was received and acknowledged by Ford.

There are two broad issues which could have prevented your car from being built: 1) lack of an allocation and 2) material build constraints.

Every car or truck requires and allocation, a space on the assembly line. Any received order has to be paired with an allocation. It's the responsibility of the dealer to secure one. If the dealer doesn't, the vehicle won't be built.

Ford has been dealing with constraints, limited amounts of materials and option combinations. The following thread gives you an idea of the most recent constraints

https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/th...-5-24-for-production-weeks-9-30-10-28.162531/

Limitations can and do change throughout a MY.

You ordered a GT. Under the current listing, you're impacted by a shortage of V8 engines. I haven't been following the constraints throughout the year, how they've changed. It could have been something else specific to your build during the MY which also delayed the build.

Related to this time of year for all models: Summer tires. Production of vehicles needing Summer tires generally doesn't happen from from Late October to March. It's a safety issue. Ford does not want some types of tires damaged by freezing temps while in transit.

As a customer, awareness of these topics will help you in MY25. By staying connected with us, you'll have regular insight on these and other topics. If concerned about a order, it's always a good idea to follow-up with the dealer. I prefer walk-ins and face-to-face discussions.

If this dealer is not working well for you, if you have a sense they don't have their wits about them, you might do a reboot for MY 25 and try someone else. An attentive dealer, one that has good communication with their customers and the Regional Manager, is important. If they're just filling orders and shrugging their shoulders, I'd go elsewhere.

I'm not aware of any significant changes to models in 25. Attached are files in support of placing an order.

Good Luck. :please:

What dealer are you dealing with?

Red ragtops were made out of unobtanium in MA and NH, when I gave up on my order and started looking for one on the lot I was lucky that Stoneham Ford had one left that was 99% of what I wanted and they took my X plan number so it was a no hassle deal.

But I have bought a number of cars and trucks from them, and when I had my body shop they were my Ford parts supplier so we had a existing relationship.

There is exactly ONE red convertible (Rapid Red tri coat) within 100 miles of you at Ira Ford in Saco.
There are no other 2024's close by.

Did you ask your dealer whats the hold up? It sure doesnt take almost a year. The build cycle has passed for 2024 I would think.
