Notice in the videos how "hesitant" the acceleration is at the 4th gear. The RPMs are also slightly appear to drop. I tried this in manual mode as well but it seems to happen in the 3rd gear. it mostly happens at very moderate constant throttle. Any ideas? Drive mode is set to Normal

That it happens most often when the throttle is being held...It's like a sweet spot (speed, gear, pedal position, etc.) for the shift logic of the trans where it can't decide to stay in the present gear or upshift. If that's the only issue, it's not unusual. I've driven several autos that can act that way, especially while driving on the highway.

How many miles on the car?

Always done it since new? Or, is this a new issue?

Only in these gears?

Only while in this mode?

Any modifications to the car?

Others with an AT can offer their inputs. Two things I can think of that could help:

- The shift tables. The car stores them and how the owner had driven over time. It could help by clearing those and letting the car re-learn your habits

- That is happens only in these gears, I'm not sure if the following would help: checking the fluid level. Some ATs have been found low in fluid. This is not a chronic issue for the S550 or S650, but it's one of the first things to check when people have shift issues

I agree with @Skye
Notice your shifts are close to 3k rpms each. The computer has decided that its inputs when you are in 4th aren’t commanding an upshift.

Thanks. I think it was always lime that. I have not noticed it in other modes or gears, but probably is there with respect to the modes. Only exhaust system is added. About 12k miles so far.
Maybe I need to be aggressive in the throttle to assist in the decision shifting process....

I like driving in sport mode and I notice that if I drive like a granny, gradually pressing the throttle, and kind of "hanging out" or maybe even off and on the throttle, the transmission sometimes seems to get a wee bit "confused" . it's not flaring or bogging down or anything but intermittently if I trigger it, the transmission just doesn't seem "happy".

I realize this is a very vague description but bottom line is I don't suspect anything wrong so it's just the way it is.

BTW, this does not happen in normal mode nor does it happen if I go up a notch in my driving and not babying the throttle as much.
