Visited my Ford dealer today. My Mustang has been in Australia for 3 months. My dealer is receiving Mustangs with a later build date than mine and a shorter time in Australia. It appears that the quarantining is random with Ford ignoring any update queries. Your Mustang may sit on the docks at Pt Kembla for some time yet (maybe months)if it is not chosen at random for cleaning. Before you take delivery, I would advise you organise a detailed inspection for signs of rust or damage.

24.5 DARK HORSE Blue Ember auto. 21.5 Oxford white GT auto gone to a new owner.
I done a RAV check on my Dark Horse last Friday. It has been given an approval number and my understanding is that once the vehicles have been through the quarantine and cleaning process it’s only then that the RAV approval number can be issue (If anyone disagrees with my understanding please feel free to correct me).

@DHL, I know this sucks mate.. it is very disappointing. Ford has no ability to influence the cleaning of the cars either...so we are truly at the mercy of the dock workers. Having said that, Ford is conveniently leaving us the customers holding the can for decisions that they messed up on. I had replied to the CEO letter......calling out the issues around depreciation due to 25 models being on the street even before we took delivery, the wear and tear especially rust, tyres, batteries etc. due to it being out in the elements etc. and the response back was Tough...not our problem!

You mention organising a detailed inspection for signs of rust or damage, who would typically do such an inspection ... and how much would they typically cost ?

After outlining my concerns about the extended exposure to the corrosive nautical elements, I recently requested a series of under car photos on major components when Servicing the car Pre-Delivery, to confirm the absence of any damage or corrosion. They were quite OK with that.
