I was just hit from behind In stopped traffic. Only 1500 miles on my baby. Impact was about 25 - 30 mph. Impact was hard enough to feel a shot in my neck and a seat belt bruise. The black plastic piece where the reverse lamp is and the body colored plastic piece above that are gouged and need to be replaced. I'm guessing there's a foam or something under the plastic.
What other damage should I look for?
Should I have the dealer repair to get proper stock pairs as opposed to aftermarket?
thanks all.

Is the other vehicle that hit you paying all the cost?

Happened yesterday. I called USAA (their insurance company) to start a claim. Damn if I'm paying!

If the dealership has their own body shop have them do it. Just make sure they order the right parts the first time (unlike mine when mine got rear ended IN THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE LINE!). My dealership didn’t notice I had the PP on my ecoboost and ordered the rear valence for dual exhaust instead of quad tips. Caused us to have to wait another week to get it fixed.

Look into diminished value as it will show accident damage on a vehicle report. If you try to sell or trade it may have a lower value.

Try to get at least as much as it will cost to install all the Steeda suspension parts you desire. In theory they only properly attach/mount to factory correct frame etc - alignment (square - as in frame to hole to point)

I fellow FRF got his Raptor fixed at Hill Country Customs out of New Braunfels and has spoken highly of their work. Be very selective on your body shop. A good body shop will return the vehicle to as before the collision condition.

Some insurance companies have specific dealerships / body shops they work with and will provide you with that information once the Claim Process begins. Whether you use them or not will be up to you, but my experience has been to consider them and if reliable and do good repair work, use them vs. others. Ask lots of questions of the body shops and be completely satisfied you will be getting good repair work along with good turnaround time for the repairs. The final decision on who you go with though rests with you. Keep in mind if the other insurance company stalls or drags their feet on the claim, you can always get your insurance company to pay for repairs and then they will file the claim against the other insurance company. This way you prevent any delays in getting vehicle repaired.
I just went thru this a few months ago when our F150 was rear ended. From time of accident to completely repaired, 1 week.

I'm am wondering about seat belt bruise when hit from behind? I'm not saying you don't have it. It just seems odd. Usually, with type of impact it pushed you into the seat.

Sorry for sure. A friend got rear ended by a truck going pretty fast that he couldn’t stop. After body repair get a mechanic to check out drive shaft u joints and tranny tail shift tail especially if your car moved during the hit.

For reference here's my 2022 Ecoboost with the (rare) 6 speed manual, hit by an uninsured motorist. She probably hit me at 15-20 mph. Cracked the rear plastics (bumper cover and rear valence) as well as the plastic impact bar and behind that the metal impact bar. Also had to replace sheet metal that was behind the impact bar (had to redo the pinch welds and seam sealer and color match shadow black, which does have a slight metallic content). All in all, $4300 in damage using genuine Ford parts that my Farmers insurance paid for. I found a shop that is both Ford and Farmers certified. There was no frame nor mechanical damage. Since my insurance paid, I could not go after diminished value, but I could still sue the other party for that (maybe in small claims), but she has no money (Farmers already sent it out to collections since she's not responding to their request for reimbursement).

We were hurt a little physically, but more mentally. Farmers took care of the medical and liability without question payments too (medical has to be through the car, not medical, insurance). After it was fixed I did trade it in on my S650 and disclosed the repair.

I don’t blame you for trading it in. To me anyway even after a perfect repair it just doesn’t seem or feel the same. Just a mental thing with me and happened twice under the same way. It sure as hell for Original parts boost the cost up.

Same.
I will say one thing, the structural parts shown in the pics look quite beefy. I'll give Ford credit for that. I realize cars are meant to crush while absorbing energy but even still it's a hell of a lot tougher looking metal than my Chrysler mini van had.

I thought it was odd but I put my shirt on 10 mins before. I went back home immediately after accident. Wife gave me baby who had a "blow out" (If you're a parent you know). About 40 mins total time and I had a bruise on right side mid chest.
I give details because I is where the belt is a rectangular shape. Is my belt working correctly?
