I usually keep an eye on the used EB market--am interested in a '20--'23 HPP model--and I came across a S650 less that 1y/o with 2400 miles:
https://www.griffinford.com/invento...t-premium-rwd-2-door-coupe-1fa6p8th4r5124543/

Had sticker of $52K now on sale for $35K! We're talking a drop more than 30% in one year.

Is this typical of the new model?
A couple of observations:

1. That is a Canadian vehicle and the pricing on the window sticker is not US Dollars.

2. The window sticker states ā€œThis vehicle not intended for sale or registration in the US.ā€

So it’s not as big of a drop in price as it seems, and it’s not even supposed to be sold or registered in the US, but it’s a US dealer selling it. I sure wouldn’t buy it at that price.

I wish everyone were taught in high school the art of gimmickry! As a society, we'd all be better off. Nowadays, it seems like anyone can say anything about anyone as long as you don't slander them! I suspect you can even do that, as long as the piece has a bunch of fine print like those mentioned above. What a bunch of woke!

Yeah, I saw $52K for an EcoBoost, and said damn

Canadian car..that explains it😟.
Hmm, a US dealer sell a Canadian car, showing a Canadian sticker
and not even a mention of those little details? This stinks...

It sure does.

When I see posts like this and comments like this one: ā€œused car=loss of 12-15k when you drive off the lotā€ but see a perfectly intelligent guy like Alan Applegate actually go buy one and can only get 6% off I have to wonder if there’s an agenda afoot. Like maybe folks think they can talk the market down and scoop up a bargain.

A couple months ago I’m looking for a new ā€˜24 EB for family. Almost all local dealers are advertising 4K off sticker. Upon arrival to grab said deal you discover there are more flies on that deal than at a 3rd world landfill and virtually nobody qualifies for it.

Things aren’t always what they seem.

What I think is interesting is in the CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this Mustang has 3 owners. Owner 1 had the vehicle for 5 months, owner 2 for 8 days, and owner 3 for 1 month. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation was involved in each of the processes.

What is important here is that on 8/8/2024 (according to the US Department of Transportation, Port Huron, MI under owner 3) the vehicle was imported and declared to meet US highway Safety specifications. This would lead me to believe that it could be legally titled and sold in the US.

It looks like this vehicle was titled/updated in Searcy, AR, then was listed online, and ended up at the current dealership in Waukesha, WI.

A quick call to the dealer in Waukesha, WI could confirm if this is correct.

According to online sites like Edmunds the depreciation on first year which is always the highest is $5,585 on a $34,428 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. That is about 16% and while the GT has only 12% still it is actually better than others like a Tesla model 3 AWD at 38%.
