Just finished my sub upgrade and it sounds 100% better. The worst part is running the power supply. I kept the factory enclosure, added a Pioneer sub, LC2i Pro and SKAR amp. For under $350 you can’t go wrong.

This is the same path I'm looking at going with mine. Did you have any noise issues or have to shut anything off with Forscan? I've seen answers going both ways while researching, but yours is the first I've seen that tapped off of the factory B&O subwoofer.

I am also considering doing the sub upgrade, but looking for a slightly better quality sub AND one that is more efficient. The Pioneer is inexpensive, yes, but only 74 db, whereas the Focal listed below is 88, requiring a LOT less power, and a tad more oomph.

I am looking at this Focal sub https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091RSB250/Focal-RSB-250.html?tp=68872

Id have to NOT use the factory holes in the factory box, but I think that would be fine. But also curious if the factory trim piece would go back on.

Thoughts?

PS Even this Pioneer https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSD10D4/Pioneer-TS-D10D4.html?tp=68872 is 2 db higher at 76 db than the TS-A250D4, requiring a little less power.

For those wondering with the AMP Pro kit, the center dash harness does have extra connectors, but the 2 main ones are the L/R tweeters. Easy enough to pull the trim out and run a couple of speaker wires to the rear like what I have some pictures of.

I did end up changing my amp layout to this:

I have the Amp pro module by where the factory amp was located. without the front tweeters being ran, it was a simple task of bypassing the B&O amp to use my own. I run the tweeters + Mid off 1 channel for now and it sounds much MUCH better. Crossover settings have no issue.
Where is this center dash harness located?

No, I haven't had any issues. I can tell you it sounds a ton better with one of the back seats down. The added volume is a big bass boost. The only thing I've done with Forscan was to get CGD.

You can put the factory trim back on but I wouldn't recommend it. I ended up removing it and putting a guard on it. The pressure from the woofer makes it emit a cracking sound at higher volumes. I also wrapped the enclosure with sound deadener.

Since the screws dont line up, did you just use self tapping screws? and at the end of your video, the trim piece is not sitting flush on the box. is that because of the self tapping screws and it not being able to sit back down properly?
No I didn’t put it in correctly. So it would snap in. I used some of the original holes that were already there then used self tapping screws for the rest. After putting on the rubber ring below the woofer so it would seal properly.

I’m planning on changing it completely with a mono block and dual subs. It still sounds better than the original speakers.
Wish I never paid extra for the system. But it
came with the package.

1300$ is kinda high to me considering you can get this for the same amount of money. The left side isn’t perfect but I’m not bothered by it at all.

I have sundowns SAv2 subs. They’re significant in size. The original box is more shallow. They had to add 5 rings to each box in order to clear my magnet on my subs. they sell the subs that go in them as well for 2 10s for a total of $1137 this is that set up
