I wonder how many potential buyers for the GTD see this car and decide they can have basically the same thing for half price?
Yeah they’re not remotely the same. Lol.

Shelbys new Super Snake for the S650 is finally being shown off. Featuring 830+ hp from the 3.0L Whipple, widebody front fenders made from carbon fiber. As well as 20" forged magnesium wheels and a full suite of other upgrades both outside and inside. No official pricing as of yet, but expect it to be well over 100k if the previous Super Snake is any metric

I am sure Carroll Shelby had no idea what legacy he would leave us after he modify his first car. But his dreams, his love for high performance cars is still with us today and the only words I can say right now are; Thank you!

Can someone clear this up for me. I was debating someone about Shelby.

The Shelby Super Snake is Shelby America. (you buy a car and send it to them)

The GT350 & GT350 are Shelby monikers owned by Ford Performance. (GT350 & GT500 made by Ford)

Is this correct?

Shelby American owns it all I believe but they license things out to Ford. 2nd generation Shelby GT350 (2011) was in fact a modified 5.0 GT from Shelby American for example, which is the same ethos for the original cars.

Just weird now because the Ford Performance cars are so good.

Yes, the only thing Shelby about the GT350 and GT500 is the badge (shelby owns the gt500/350 name), everything else is from Ford Performance.

I didnt see any upgrades on transmissions. The MT-82 or 10spd Auto can handle 830HP ?

People are NOT gonna be ready for this level of pricing.

love the grille, hood, fenders… meh on the Spoiler.
$100K premium on this, yikes! I would honestly pay a $25K premium for just the whipple supercharger, front end, hood, and rims, although maybe a package like that will be more like a future GT500 release.

Overall though, I think the design looks great, and they did a great job with it. Not a fan of the "shelby" lettering on the side, as someone else already pointed out; just the snake emblem would have been fine.

For $160K I could buy a new mustang GT AND a new corvette or porsche haha. I'm guessing the super snakes are marketed to baby boomers and collectors who haven't been affected by inflation these past couple years.

im honestly really just... meh on the Super Snake. you can get basically the same power by taking an existing GT or DH and putting the Whipple stage 1 on it. sure, probably 14k or 15k after labor to install but now you have 810hp with a 3y/36k warranty, or you can toss out the warranty to get an additional 65hp and 10ft-lb. plus those wheels are pretty bad looking in terms of design and color. also not really a fan of the fact that the already limited color options are even further limited to 6 of blue, boring, boring, red, red, and boring. also, all that carbon fiber stuff would make me worried like nothing else to drive it. the front makes me think its trying to be a 2020-22 GT500 and a Dark Horse at the same time, but i do like those fender vents. for so much money, though, i would rather get this

not sure about the MT-82, but the 10R80 can handle basically as much power as you can throw at it until the clutches start slipping around 900hp or so. even then, afaik once you upgrade the clutches you're good until you want to make some undriveable levels of power, but if you're doing that you can absolutely afford a built 10R80
