If I wanted a street racer I probably would have bought a Hellcat. I wanted a nice weather top down cruiser with a bit of muscle and attitude. GT convertible 401a pp a10. Only 480 miles yet. I smile every time I drive it or even just look at it in the garage.
And this is exactly what Ford had in mind with the S650s. Good-looking, good-sounding cruisers. The EPA is slowy killing automotive performance, at least for those that aren't extremely wealthy.

My problem with the S650 is it just way overpriced for what you get the 2025 premium Darkhorse is now at 73,000 without the track pack is just too high. A used 2021 GT500 with lows miles can be had for 80,000 like new example. That same GT500 will just kill a dark horse and makes it look like a focus performance wise. I have driven both and there is no way the S650 are worth the price that Ford is charging. Ford has lost it on pricing on the 2025. A fully loaded 2025 Dark Horse is 87,000 dollars for a fancy 5.0, Ford has lost their mind. A non-track pack Dark Horse version is now 73000 the same car in early 2024 was 67,000 that is a 6 thousand dollar increase in a year. I would bet the 2025's will be sitting on the lot for a while and have huge rebates by the end of the 2025 model year. After seeing how an S650 performed on Car Wow with the USA full 486 horse tune, they need to work on that Automatic 10 speed it was just terrible performance wise.

The issue with the carwow video is the driver was manually shifting instead of just leaving the car in drag mode. Once the roll race came through, the mustang hung a bit better. Iā€™d still expect the m2 to beat it given that itā€™s closer to 470whp rather than crank like the mustang, but not by as much as it did in the initial drag races.

@wolf32v ā€¦ the DH vs a used GT500 arenā€™t much of a comparisonā€¦

The GT with a whipple isā€¦ I was roughly 55K all in for mineā€¦ cheaper than a base DH matter of fact.

there is no better deal on the market at any price point than the 2024 GT/ whipple.

Z06 canā€™t touch it, E ray, ā€¦ ZL1 ā€¦ hellcat, redeye, Supra.. or GT500.

So, whatā€™s a track pack?

Just wondering if I missed something.

Correct, not only did the driver use the paddle shifters in the mustang... He didn't know how to use the paddle shifters. Meanwhile the competition was automatic lol I can tell how that race is going to end no matter what cars are used.

I haven't driven a Mustang since 1987...and I have been driving a Jeep Wrangler for the past 8 years. There is no question that my 2024 is fast, but I haven't had it out of sport mode but once to try the track mode after I broke in the milage. I am very impressed!

if you ever go on a road trip and just want calm, set up a custom mode that uses slippery as a base, with quiet exhaust and calm cluster theme. if you have an 10R80, the shifts are stupid smooth, quiet exhaust keeps your music audible, and slippery mode numbs the throttle. the ultimate "chill cruise" mode

Thanks. I drive pretty much a straight road to work. 11 miles out of town then 6 miles through town. The housing construction is dampening my 11 mile ride! The construction just started so the amount of traffic has increased. It happened just as after I bought my Mustung! Disappointed because I was driving my Jeep to work for 8 years and now this...lol.
