Hello guys!

I am planning to pull some triggers on some 20" wheels for my car and also lower it with Steeda magneride dual rate ultimate handling lowering spring at the same time. I did not find any one who has the same setup so I am wondering how the car would sit and look with 20" wheels when it is lowered. If anyone has pictures of the same setup, please share them with us! Greatly appreciated!

Here are the wheels and tires specs I am trying to get:

Wheels:
Front: 20" x 10" ET +35
Rear: 20" x 11" ET +50

Tires:
Front: 285/30/R20
Rear: 305/30/R20

Thanks again!!!

I am looking to do the exact same! I already have the springs installed (did it last weekend) but now I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to figure out my wheel setup. We should work together on this! I was planning on Michelin PS4S for the tires and 315 for the rear, but otherwise the exact same as you.

Hey there!

Thanks for the comments! For your dark horse, I believe you can even have wider front and rear wheels (front 20x11 ET+24 / rear 20x11.5 ET+56) if you want.

Here is a link to the photos I found on Project6GR. This dark horse has the same wheels specs I mentioned and they look so sick! I think the rear wheels are paired with 315/30/R20 tires. Don't know about the front tires. Sorry.

Definitely check them out! Project 6GR is killing the game out here.

He runs those springs, with 20" Velgen wheels but he runs a 275/35R20 tire.

After speaking with Rodney, a Steeda suspension guru, I run the SPORT PROGRESSIVE springs and a 285/35R20. I have about a finger width of gap between the top of the tire and the fender.

Granted, I drive a DH w/hp but Rodney stated that regardless of the model of S650 it will fit the same with the same spring + wheel + tire combo.

Thanks for the link!

Would you mind sharing your thoughts on the differences between Steeda sport progressive and ultimate handling dual rate lowering springs?

Besides the differences in their height drops:
Sport Progressive: 0.8125" all around
Dual Rate: 1.3" front / 0.75" rear

I am assuming the dual rate spring will have a firmer feel than the sport progressive. Please share your comments if you can. Thank you!

Best,

Best,
The dual rates are more performance focused (track/aggressive street) while the progressives are more comfort and normal handling focused (daily driver). That said, I have the progressives on my car and they work well for me on the track, although I am a novice. I know a lot of people run the dual rates for daily driving as well. I expect you’d be happy with either if it gives you the drop/ look you are looking for. Keep in mind you can always add spacers if the car doesn’t sit just as you like it. I ended up adding a rear spacer to my S550 with progressives to get it to sit the way I liked.

I had dual rates on my s550 but was running 19” rims. Still a 35 sidewall. It could get pretty stiff for daily driving but not crazy. When you leaned into it the car would hunker down and go. I wanted that stiffness for the supercharger launches.

Now that I’m running 20s I kinda wanted something that would allow a little more sort of a ride on the street. A few weeks ago I hit a poor construction patch and am fairly convinced had I had a stiffer ride I would have cracked the rim.

Thank you for the info! I just placed an order for the progressive lowering springs today and should be here next week. Can't wait to put it on.

Do you know if bump steer kit is necessary? I noticed Steeda bump steer kit is only for s550s. I am looking for it from other brands as well.

In lowering both my S550 and S650 I did not add a bump steer kit, and I never noticed any bump steer. I haven’t had any issues even with tracking my S650.

Hello guys,

Just wanna give an update on the build. I decided to go with Steeda sport progressive lowering springs with BMR camber plates. Placed an order for the wheels and tires as well. Below are the details:

Suspensions:
Steeda Sport Progressive Lowering Springs - Part number: 555 8242
BMR Caster Camber Plate - Part number: CP001

Wheels:
DrForged - DR04 - Gloss Clear - 20“11" ET26 / 20"x11.5" ET48 (Wheel specifications copied from Apex)

Tires:
Nitto NT555 G2 - 305/30/R20 - 315/30/R20

Wheels should be arriving in 3months. I will post photos of the car with the new wheels after installation. Stay tuned! Cheers!
