Compared to incandescent yes but my gripe is they donât last anywhere near as long as they advertise. We have all LEDs in our home and from major providers like Phillips, Sylvania etc and they last probably half the advertised life. So to me it is a big lie.Long life is not a lie. Compared to incandescent bulbs they do last much longer.
Specially in a moving car where the hot filament doesn't like bumps.
But, there is quality in there too. The cheap ones won't last as long either...
Funny you should mention this.Compared to incandescent yes but my gripe is they donât last anywhere near as long as they advertise. We have all LEDs in our home and from major providers like Phillips, Sylvania etc and they last probably half the advertised life. So to me it is a big lie.
Also look around at the numerous vehicles with burnt out LEDs, they are everywhere, especially up here. They donât like the cold. Our outside house LEDs wonât light in the winter, they buzz and flash up and down. Theyâre a pain. Yet now LEDs are the only thing available.
Quebec, You certainly get the cold there..Funny you should mention this.
I switched my outside lights from halogen (who burned every year) to LED and in 8 years i have replaced only one.
And i live in Quebec, so they go through all weather including nasty colds...
My outside ones are not screw-on bulbs but the 2 prong you have to twist/lock on.Quebec, You certainly get the cold there..
Mine have been a pain. Outside lights (3) come on at dusk and then flash up and down in the cold until they turn off. I originally thought it was the circuitry but theyâre on different circuits. Then I checked the fixtures⊠it the bulbs. I need to find bulbs that handle the cold.
Hmmmm, mine are plain old screw in.My outside ones are not screw-on bulbs but the 2 prong you have to twist/lock on.
I also picked a K value that ressembles incandescent bulbs so it looks more natural
