A lot of people have said now you are better off keeping the factory tubes and just throwing some better filters in, if you want the extra 5 hp than you can take the carbon traps out too.

I’m not sure I like the whole clear lid idea but I like being able to see the filters.

I think the pipes look great but it is pricey. I believe CPE has a set coming out with smooth plastic pipes versus carbon fiber.
That CPE set up looks pretty good. Some what cheaper then the competitors too.

Good mod for someone just getting into modifying cars. Expensive way to learn they don't do jack!
I've been a mechanic for 30 years and sometimes I buy shit for looks. Shade tree forum mechanics seem to have a lot to want to prove.

If you are looking for aesthetics only, then some aftermarket CAI's fit the bill. If you are looking for performance gains........the whole point of a cold air intake is to get colder air, which is denser, and holds more oxygen for a given volume. The colder, the better. Slapping on different filters and or inlet tubes without relocating their location to where the air is cooler, i.e. outside the engine bay, then gains, if any, will be insignificant. We all have taken the trip down the rabbit hole thinking aftermarket CAI's will add HP & TQ, not understanding what creates more HP & TQ.

Sometimes we all by shit just for looks. And there’s nothing wrong with that. This product certainly fits that bill.

See above. What bothers me is that some will believe that the HP improvements shown will actually translate in better performance.[/QUOTE]

I was looking at them on their website and I believe they use a 4 inch flanged filter which makes me think the pipe diameter may be smaller. Something to look into further if you are considering the CPE intake.

What is a good filter to buy to replace the factory paper cone and that fits the factory opening?
