@Gregs24 ..... There is probably an off-Mustang thread on this forum for political discussions but in short the Dutch just voted-in the new series of coalitions as a result of the previous failed coalitions of socialists and nanny state doctrine devotees not dissimilar to the situation my family members in the UK have had to live with. Virtually failed states (UK for example) and socialistic governments who tax anyone with ambition and therefore a decent income to spread around to the parasites who have little ambition or ability to succeed and in the case of the UK multi generational unemployment, sprawling ghettos "estate housing", a failing economy, a dysfunctional political system and a massive immigrant population that feels disenfranchised. That is the real rubbish. Best stick to Mustangs.

Political discussions are not allowed on here but you crack on with your uninformed opinions anyway! Your view of the UK is delusional at best, very happy living here rather than the US any day :giggle:

Holland has a right wing government
Definitely a LOL. The 'scale' and attribution of right vs. left is quite a bit different depending upon you position as it relates to the Atlantic.
Crack on though !

All I can say that once we come out from under our collective rock our understanding of the rest of the world becomes a lot clearer. Yes, we live in a wonderful country, but there are others that do what we do as well, or better, than us. The Dutch, in general, live high quality lives with many benefits we here in the US do not have (coffee shops anyone? 🤭). It’s certainly not perfect, nothing is, but it was most enjoyable to see it.
I have been most partial to motorcycles getting much better respect on European roads. No waiting in line for all the diesel spewing hi cubes, just filter right past them. First on the water crossing ferries, first off a lot of times. Roads through and around the Alps -it's almost as if they were implemented for 2 wheel travel. Coffee shops are different, obviously, but better/worse is subjective. I'm a brewer, so Pubs are a thing I do like Ireland and Germany have been my preferred ones, but TBF I haven't given the UK a fair enough shake - excepting the Isle of Man.

The thing about the cost of goods, services and the like there vs. the US is that the people generally consider the government provided services as
'free' but of course, there is no free.

Unless we're getting paid to use the Mustang in some way, none of us here _need_ a Mustang, we want it. Some places are going to capitalize on that want and tax it rightly or wrongly. IMO the asserted Netherlands Mustang tax is preposterous and it's a shame that someone living there who wants one - it's likely out of reach for all but a select few. :-(

My wife and I were in the Netherlands, specifically Amsterdam and Rotterdam this past April. Spent a lot of time with locals Including a friend whose family still lives there. Hopefully they can buy Mustangs with far less government interference! They have some great roads too.
I seem to recall a gov' recently imposing a 100% tax on imported ev's from 'certain' nations and a lower rate from other countries. The 'tariffs' that are paid by the purchaser not the seller ...
