Didn't some source state already that the new Mustang will be built at FlatRock as it has always been? Besides, we’re looking at what 150.000 cars in total per year? It’s hard to imagine that they would spilt up such a relatively low number of cars and equip two plants with the necessary tools.

However, it’s also evident that not all parts will be built at FlatRock but that some parts will be built elsewhere to smooth out production and risk controlling/management.

The union statement a while ago clearly stated that Ford agreed to build the S650 in flatrock and invest further $250M. Of course it's possible that some parts will be build in mexico, but final assembly is still in flatrock

There is plenty of outdated info on the web, particularly being that the last time this car was a 2021 vehicle, it was on CD6 still.

However, unless they are referring to a "2021" project of theirs, then everything quickly makes sense.

This doesn't even mention that it will be built in Mexico. Plenty of components are sourced globally, but the end product is typically built at wherever the manufacturing plant is located.

Ford is getting to launch in 1 years time, so there's no way Mexico comes into play, when FRAP continues as planned building these vehicles.

I'm not exactly sure what we're looking at there, but I suspect it's sub assembly items that would be produce elsewhere (Mexico) and full assembly is still done at Flat Rock.
Check the model year and then see if it makes sense LOL. Unfortunately there's still some old stuff online regarding S650, especially judging by many mistake I made last year with assuming Mike Celentino was still in charge and at Ford.

Unlike Dave Pericak managing S550 from start to finish, this one might be guided by two different people.

I'm an engineer at the Tier 1 supplier to Ford that's doing the S650 IP. It's being assembled at Flat Rock.

Many of the Ford Parts I’ve Purchased for My Mustang have had “Made In Mexico” on a Label on the Bag or on the Part. Some are the more Advanced Parts you’d think Ford would keep In-House.

Does Flat Rock technically Stamp, cast or make any parts? I thought they were all outsourced and shipped for assembly.

Those are fixture checkers for quality control on stamping parts. Flat rock really isn’t doing shit so to say it’s going to Mexico is dumb. Maybe for the export market sure but to leave flat rock without a vehicle gtfo

I guess (or hope) the satellite view in Google maps is a bit older:

The Iconic Silver GT Convertible could have been it except that mine has a built date 03/07/2024 and should currently be on a ship as far as Ford chat told me.
Was hoping to already get an S650 as a rental back then but ended up with a 2022 Ecoboost.
