Ceratec made no change whatsoever.
Then you might not have the BBQ tick. Honestly virtually everyone who has the tick and used Ceratec noticed a significant reduction in it.

Not to scratch an old wound but what puzzles me is why some cars have the tick and others do not? Also why many report after the first oil change?
No one knows. It's one of the universes great unknowns. As my old mentor used to say,"Get over it, it is what it is".

Edit: I need to clarify. Every Coyote has the tick. It's part of the engine. It's the volume that varies. Some are to soft to hear, other are moderate, and finally some are as loud as batshit.

Ford won’t do anything to repair it
Since there is nothing broken there is nothing to repair.

Is there any association with absence of the tick and use of Motorcraft full synthetic? Or is it dumb luck?

Thought I was lucky, got mine no tick... at 1400 miles took it to the dealer for it's first change, Motorcraft Full Synthetic... got home pulled into the garage... BBQ tick:headbang:

Ford won’t do anything to repair it ..they just updated the bulletin and added the 2024 model to it ..

Its pretty sad that Ford makes the Coyote for 14 years now and has done nothing to fix the noise…Reminds me of the government that put up signs warning of bad pavement instead of fixing the roads…LOL

That sucks. Hmm, maybe I’ll try going with the semi-synthetic for my first oil change….. I’m going to wait until 2500-3000 miles.

I dont think think oil has anything to do with it just like the Hemi tick caused by bad lifter rollers eating cam lobes around 120K miles or any GM V8 whose cylinder deactivation / lifters can eat cams/brake valve springs from day one…Just change the oil at recommended intervals and hope for the best !

There is no fix since there is nothing broken. The tick is there. Some hear it others don't but it is always there. It's part of the engine.

Don't bother. Owners have tried different types of oil, different brands, different weights. Nothing. Remember the tick was/is always there. The only difference is it is audible in some cars and not others.

First Service at 4,000 miles done at my usual Ford Dealer. Didn’t get on it too hard leaving the Dealership. Got home and pulled in the garage. Heard the tic!! 🙄🙄🙄

I immediately got on 7G to see if anyone else was having the issue and there was the thread. After about a week, or less, it was gone. Dealer used Full Synthetic oil as well. No issues since and have NOT added any additives. It’s random it seems but keep an eye and ear out for any worsening conditions.

Dont freak out about the tick. I have seen Gen 2 coyotes and a few high mileage Gen 3 Coyotes with over 100k miles with the tick with no issues. Like I said, I only used less than half a bottle of LiquiMoly Ceratec and tick was gone.

The only thing I can figure is maybe they aren’t pre-filling the oil filter?? Why else would it happen after an oil change…. 🤷‍♂️

@FrankAR15 ...... just changed the oil at 3000 miles on my 2024 Mustang GT. I used Motorcraft FULL synthetic 5W-30 and the Motorcraft oil filter. I had the tech prefill the oil filter with oil to soak the filter's filter media then add some more oil before installing it. I am now a 4000 miles with no "tic". Sadly I do have the R1080 auto transmission whine, so you win some you lose some!

Mine ticked after the first oil change, but then quieted down. Haven't heard it since.
