To be honest I'm still trying to figure that out for myself. All those test drives I did last year and I still don't have a definitive answer. All I know is that I'm now deciding between the Mustang GT/Mach-4 (if it gets made) and the Prius/Camry (both AWD), and I'm not in a rush to sell/trade-in my EcoBoost. As always, any and all help will be highly appreciated from my end. Thanks again!

Yes, I have a GT (6 MT, PP, active exhaust, magneride). It's brand new, sitting in my garage, waiting for this ridiculous winter here in PA to let up. I also have a 2023 Honda Civic Sport hatchback, also a stick. It is not fast, but handles well, and is entertaining to drive. And, I can haul a few things that the Mustang couldn't handle. Of course, 35 MPG is the icing on the cake. This time of year, it has Blizzaks on all four corners, which have gotten me through some nasty winter drives when I am out refereeing college sports. I'm not gonna lie...I want spring to come so I can have some fun with the Mustang. Though, one needs to think about the scenario behind another's car shopping before one criticizes another's car purchases.

THAT is certainly a stark dilemma! Prius or Mustang GT. 😅

Best of luck with whatever you run with!

Not in priority order
  • Looks cool
  • Goes fast
  • Sounds good
  • Two doors
  • Rear seat (dogs)
  • Automatic
  • Self driving tech
  • Nice interior
  • Overall nice tech
Bonus
  • Sunroof/T-Top/Targa Top
  • Visibility
The interior could be nicer, wish they’d add Blue Cruise, but regardless the Mustang checks these boxes the best.

My Mustang is my daily driver. Most all of the Mustangs that I've had over the years have been. For me, it is comfortable, quick enough, looks good and has plenty of room. The main thing for me is that it helps me unwind from the workday/ stress of the workday.
My Wife has her car so we both have our own cars to drive. Getting an additional beater only adds to monthly costs of insurance, etc. That's additional reasoning for me not to buy specialty Mustangs such as a Dark Horse, Shelby, etc. as I will be putting daily mileage on the Mustang I have and a regular/base GT is only going to drop in value vice being a future collectable.

As a DD only, good mpg, comfort and AWD or at least FWD. MPG and FWD or AWD was #1 priority for me in my 2nd career, as I had a 3 hr commute each day and winters were brutal in Ohio-KY. The stang was/is a seasonal toy and stays covered up in heated garage during winter.

I was also considering a Camry before my Ecoboost purchase. I really just wanted something NEW and with a warranty. I looked at the Camry first, but realized I had to buy their top-of-the-line trim level to have a push button start... There was absolutely no way I would be paying new car money for something without push button start. I got in the new S650 and felt like I travelled through time to be in a (2024) modern car.. I am VERY impressed with the options available on my ultra base model EcoBoost.

Depending on what you do for a living and if you have a safe place to park your car a Mustang of whatever model you fancy would be a nice everyday car. I do believe a more "base model" should be available in both GT and Ecoboost. Many people don't really have the use of computer screens in a car. Maybe a small one for YouTube in the dash to watch videos while stopped somewhere would be nice. All the programmed modes are really not needed, neither is a towing thingamajig. Maybe have buttons programmable by a chip for the driving modes one can use for daily driving. I do like the style of the steering wheel in my Mustang. One of the first cars I didn't want to put one of those spongy coated chrome steering wheels from the 60s and 70s that the horn never worked, but felt great in the hands. An Ecoboost is a great around town engine, but maybe a lesser performance 302 would suffice for a daily driver. With nice stuff handling when needed. Less fancy interior made with strong vinyl. All the bells and whistles are not needed. Not all of us are computer nerds. Available with 6 speed or 10 speed and all season tires.
