What size headers?

I'm about to order kooks headers either 1 7/8 or 2in. I want to boost in a few years and my local performance shop recommended 2in. I want around 700+ power when I do boost. Just trying to beat hellcats. Is there any negatives to having 2in NA interms of power loss? I'd rather just buy one set and be done. I'd do e85 and intake and tune as well. What do yall think? Thanks

You will get a good mid-range gain in power especially with a tune. Being at 700hp 2in its gonna be a issue for what you are trying to achieve

Standard size Kooks headers is 2in right? That’s good and from there go X pipe 3inch.

I have a 3inch steeda catback. I called kooks and they said there could be a negative effect on power is you have a header that big with no boost. Is that true?

I think it’s true because you have bigger tubing and not enough exhaust gas.

Not sure if it’s true or not but I heard someone saying the other day that you can’t run A/C with the two inch version. I have 1 7/8 and it does seem tight in that area from what I remember.

Just go 1 7/8 OP, no need for 2”‘unless you’re trying to make well over 1000.
