I recently installed my Stage 1 Whipple kit on my S650/6spd manual. Everything went very well during install, checked and double check everything for leaks, bolt torque, gaskets were installed correctly, etc. Cranked the car up for the first time after loading the tune, she ran! When the car was stock, it idled at a near perfect 750 RPM all the time. Now i notice after the car is fully warmed up it will idle at 800RPM. Sometimes when down shifting, coming to a stop then putting the car in neutral, the idle will dip down sometimes to around 760-770-780 RPM and then surge slightly above 800RPM...say like 810-820 RPM before eventually idling back down to 800RPM. This all happens over a 5-7 second window. Ive checked around the throttle body for vacuum leaks. Also checked around the blower itself and wasn't able to get the engine to climb in RPM at all.

Note: I have driven the car at least 300 miles so far with the Whipple on and im pretty certain it has left the "relearn" window

My first thought was maybe this a normal characteristic of the blower or something having to do with Whipples calibration settings.

My 2 questions:
1.) Has anyone who has installed this gen 6 whipple noticed a change in idle speed over stock?
2.) Do i have a vacuum leak somewhere?

Any insight here is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Tune or a vacuum leak issue. Also could be normal. From what I've read it's not uncommon for the car's idle behavior to change after a Whipple install.

I checked mine for ya. No surging, but my idle fluctuates between 780 and 820 when the throttle is closed. I do find that engine braking has been reduced a bit. Revs don't fall as quickly as before.

Yep that's exactly how mine is doing. I guess what I meant by surging is exactly what you said in that it fluctuates between that RPM range. Thanks for the info...maybe this is indeed how the whipple cal is meant to be for these cars
