That seems a bit high to me. If that car is making somewhere in the area of 440 rwhp bone stock, that's a 400 horsepower gain.855 HP? Dang.
Yeah, I can't imagine you can put that power down very well anywhere outside of a prepped track, and even then you likely better be on the right tires.I don't know. Doesn't seem like truly usable power. Overkill for the street? Just sayin!!1
Whipple has the tuning already. We've been testing the kit on our manual GT and it's legit. We hope to release our dyno footage and numbers this Friday. Stay tuned!855 HP? Dang. Updates on availability with tune?
The throttle body is the main difference between the two stages. The Stage 1 kits will come with a single 92mm GT500 throttle body. The Stage 2 kits will come with a billet 112mm round throttle body (using GT500 electronics). So what exactly are the different stages?
Still not sure of what Ford Performance’s plans are as we haven’t heard from them on a release date or specifics on their kits. However Whipple does indeed offer kits for the Darkhorse which we have listed on our site. A close friend of mine has 2 darkhorses with a kit on each of them. The only difference beteeen the GT kit snd DH kit is the calibration. Other than that it’s the same components in each system. As far as power numbers I believe the GT and DH ratings are going to be very similar to one another. As you mentioned though about the DH having the predator rods the DH may hold up to higher HP limits down the road once custom tuning becomes avaiable and we can turn the boost up and throw some E85 at it.@LethalPerformance...
Do you know if the Dark Horse is still going to get it's own kit? I saw a post by Ford Performance a while ago saying it was coming soon but nothing since. I assume with the stronger internals they may be able to squeeze a little more out of the DH?
So if it's due... would it make sense for DH owners to hang tight for a while? Or will it be basically the same kit with a different tune, and will that tune be available to any DH owners who might buy a 'GT' kit now?![]()
