2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
I can confirm along with Newface's post yesterday that Ford is no longer accepting any more Mustang Dark Horse orders for the 2024 Model Year. If you have a Dark Horse already on order prior to this week, then you should still be okay. But I recommend checking in with your dealership and make sure your order is still good for 2024 MY. I talked with the General Sales Manager and the owner of the dealership I'm ordering from and they confirmed with their regional Ford Rep on the information above.

If you haven't placed a Dark Horse order to this point, then you'll have to wait until the 2025 Dark Horse order banks open.

Is there still a place online that shows when the order banks open and close for the '24/'25 Mustangs in general?

No word yet as to when order banks will officially close for normal Mustangs for 2024 and open for 2025. My initial guess is 2024 banks will close end of July/early August and 2025 banks will open in September.

If Ford is stopping Dark Horse orders now then I reckon they're giving themselves 3 months of production remaining. I remember someone saying this Model Year life cycle is 18 months and started in March 2023.

One could sense Ford making this decision after the initial delays. They probably can't afford to push out any more production so they're cutting all new orders to finish out their backlog on time for the 2025 MY.

According to Wikipedia production started in May 2023. I forgot the S650 debuted in September of 2022, it's been that long already...

from what I come to understand Flat rock will go idle in June (in addition to the scheduled shut down in July) along with 3 other plants. Makes sense with how the scheduling process works the Dark Horse banks have closed (and general mustang orders not long after towards the end of July/August most likely)

Do you think they'll announce the '25 new/returning/discontinued colors and/or packages before or after the '24s end production?
