Following.

It took me over a week to figure out how to access the Trip 2 on the driver's HUD. I've tried multiple ways to see if I can get the settings to save with no luck. I have been able to get the Trip 2 meter to stick, however, the MPG resets every time I power cycle the vehicle. Definitely wish Ford would fix this before providing new driver HUDs.

@roadpilot for the win. Apparently trip meter is persistent and if you have it checked as an available read out, it’s the default. This is the only way I’ve been able to get the gauge readout I want.

of course, the downside is, you cannot reset the trip meter from anywhere else but the instrument cluster and that means you have to re-select it, reset the trip meter and deselect it in infotainment screen.

@Ford Motor Company : Do better guys.
and while you’re at it, lose the seat 4 occupant seat belt splash screen. It’s annoying AF and detracts from an otherwise excellent driving experience.

I happened across a post on another forum how to completely disable this screen via FORScan on the F150. I wonder if that would work on the Mustang.

Swing and a miss, strike one.

I tried to get a backup of IPC, but it began an odometer write :-O so I cancelled it, and I could not get back to the module screen correctly. This is not like the other 2 FORSCAN efforts I’ve undertaken for my other vehicles. I checked a bunch of videos online, and the FORSCAN site and still no joy.
I’d hoped it would behave like before ; 2017 & 2020 but no.

Swing and a miss, strike two.
I got all the modules backed up after going all the way back to Livinitup’s writeup. I tried writing the zeroes to the designated fields and every iteration of it failed with “Service procedure interrupted”...

The one that suppresses the splash screen is :
Change line 720-13-01 and 720-13-02 to ALL ZEROS. And WRITE the changes. Click yes to let Forscan correct the checksum. I tried all fields, just -01, just one field and none of them will save with zeroes.

Looks like I’m out of the Forscan game for a while. I have the new FORSCAN... .61, tried with 2x adapters, one bluetooth, one cable. I can back up modules but the updating of modules fails, 100% of the time.

I tried to add continuous gear display, same result.
bummer.

Which adapter are you using. Is it listed on the FORScan.org website as a supported adapter?

As of today, this one: buy on Amazon.US as recommended on the FORSCAN site. The log has some indication of communication errors with both adapters, but it’s also not logging everything.

The first attempt with the wired adapter prompted to auto increase the baud rate, which I accepted, restarted and tried. When I looked at the logs it was still failing during the update attempt with a connection drop.

The one I used at first - I was able to back up, but updates failed the same way. I’ve read through the log and it looks to me like once I try to make the update and fail, subsequent update attempts are not logged at all. I’ll read through later and probably send off to FORSCAN for them to ignore.
