It's crazy to hear how orders are being delayed. It seems orders were delivering quicker last year. I know I got lucky with my order because even compared to others at the time, I got mine very quickly. I ordered 6/21/23, VIN received 6/22/23, In Production 8/9/23, Built 8/17/23, Delivered to the dealer 8/31/23, and Picked Up from the Dealer 9/1/23. Just 72 days from the day I ordered until pickup. As I said, I know I got lucky with the speed of mine, but these current delays seem nuts.

Shipments are also being delayed for some reason.
Supply chain issues have stopped production until August 5th. All it takes is a train derailment, truck overturning, or a stuck cargo ship to cause weeks of backlog.

I ordered the Mach 3/19/2021 and had about 15 delay emails before finally taking delivery 10/9/2021. This was even after engaging the regional Ford rep and getting my order priority bumped to 1 in May.

Some orders (even with VINs IIRC) were eventually cancelled by Ford in late 2021 and re-entered as 2022 orders.

Hang in there, you are at their mercy.

Well, some more news. Delayed another week to 9/9/2024. Got the email today.

The system that Ford is using is very poor.
I've posted 4 or 5 times in the last week: FRAP is down all of July and likely all of August as well.

Ordered May 4th, 2023, picked up Sept 7th, 2023.

NPP delayed my order getting scheduled for a month. As soon as I dropped it, and went with the BAP, it got picked up and scheduled.
what do all these acronyms mean?

When was your car actually built? Seems like maybe somewhere in the July timeframe? And now they’re still pushing 2024 builds into September? Does that mean 2025 builds won’t start until about 3 months later than 2024 builds started last year?

so you can make changes even after placing an order, as long as they haven't started to build?

I don't know if there are only certain changes that can be made prior to production or not. In my case, the dealer entered the wrong brake caliper color when they entered the order on 6/21/23. I was issued a VIN on 6/22/23, and on 6/30/23 the dealer successfully changed the brake caliper color on the order. Of course all of this was prior to it going into production. So, yes, changes can be made, but what exactly can or cannot be changed I'm not certain.

I changed my paint colour 3.5 months after ordered after the VIN was issued and it was no problem

Some changes are allowed, some changes are not. Some changes will put you back to the end of the line.

Hmm,

I wonder if I could add AVE and it not delay it any more or no.

Thank you for this information. I really only watch a very few threads and I did read your comment on a thread just a few minutes ago. So, thank you for your patience for me not knowing this information and you sharing it again for the 6th time. It is appreciated.

I would definitely add AVE, delay or not. Worth the risk

I'm hearing now it's going to take 9-10 months "average" to get a car built - FT...!!!

Now where did you hear that? I did upgrade to the AVE but now my VIN number and look up options provide no information and do not even go to the page.
