New Mustang Stablemate?

We all heard about a new stablemate for Mustang at the 60th anniversary release on Mustang Day this year. Is this the car they alluded to?

I'm not sure what they were smoking at the time they a) decided to make it as the mach-e is selling so well ... b) name it after a car that's nothing like it.

There's no such thing as bad publicity.

Mach E sales have taken off since the price cuts, if it was called the "Edge EV" you have to wonder if people would even know it existed.

They misspelt the name. They intended to call it what it is, the crapi.

looks too much like a 1979 Datsun 510.

the actual Capri doesn’t look too much better and resembles a Volkswagen riding on wheels inspired by HoneyComb cereal.

um… I don’t see what that has todo with my post? Never said it resembled a Mustang. It clearly does not.

and it looks more like a vw than Mach e. On honeycomb cereal wheels no less.

if you followed the links you would see those are their renderings. Stablemate? More like additional revision of an existing occupant. The little capri (two door) battery powered runabout could potentially work well but a battery operated brick doesn’t really stir the mustang spirit.

It definitely takes more than headlights and a roofline to make something a "stablemate". The Capri looks like a fun runabout, it's coming in playful colors and we all know the mass market loves their crossovers.

But they're only calling it a "stablemate" for the same reason a Mach E is a Mustang: there's no bad publicity. After all, we're talking about it.
