I wish there was a way for every Mustang owner to spend a few hours driving a Chinese made BYD, and here's why. It's glitzy inside and out, but nothing works under the glitz! In fact, what it really is rhymes with glitz! Count yourself lucky!
Indeed. For all the paranoia about Chinese carmakers spying on people - they barely work long enough to drive to the shops never mind have time to do anything else!

Honestly not sure. Really odd honestly. This model year has gotten so many recalls it’s insane.
More features and technology, more problems....

Yeah but figure how long it’s been in testing. When a cars made, it’s obviously tested before put into mainstream production. Ford has a notorious number of recalls this year. Crazy.

Lmao yeah, but still kind of annoying. I get it’s a first model year, but this thing has gotten double digit recalls now. This is crazy. Not to mention, this recall also has no remedy until 2025
Not all production cars have been affected. Some recalls have only a handful of cars are affected by a recall. The car is much better than people like to admit on this forum. I still have only 1 open recall for the clutch hose retainer. I wouldn't focus too hard on the number if recalls and instead would focus on the number of cars affected.

Yes, I have the recall out but I personally haven’t been affected. The recall’s usually just go off of production dates and they compile all cars out of the range, but yes it’s not many affected.

Absolutely correct. So, back in the day we used hidden kill switches. I can't count how many times thieves tried to steal one of our HP boats or vehicles to NO avail.

Want to make one of these punk, arrogant little $hits look stupid - install a hidden kill switch. You could put a Cray computer on it and no way. Analogue baby!

Local Dodge dealership put kill switches on all their high end vehicles. Not one was stolen. My insurance agent has a hot Charger from that dealership - where his dad is the sales manager.

Don't have the time right now to install one - pull a fuse for your fuel pump, starter - pick one.

The a-holes will have to flat bed you - which they won't. Old school, baby!

I have the notice too, and mine is a May ’24 build. If the gauge cluster is going blank it’s possibly software, hardware, compatibility between the 2 but I believe this one will fall under a regulatory recall - it’s a safety issue because you won’t have a speedometer, etc.

Just because it hasn’t happened to you, doesn’t mean it won’t happen to you.

Future reference to this issue should be entitled:

Mustang Black Screen of Death or MBSoD.

Perhaps the most concerning recall relates to 6,212 Ford Mustangs that were built for the 2024 model year from May 10, 2024, to August 20, 2024. Ford’s own investigation has revealed that these cars are suffering from digital instrument clusters that can go completely blank—a less-than-ideal scenario, apparently triggered by low voltage events in the remote cluster box that muck up the software’s initialization.
The issue isn’t theoretical, either. The Blue Oval has already logged 58 warranty claims tied to these cluster failures and has instructed dealers to update the software on affected cars. Notifications to owners will start going out later this month, giving Mustang owners something else to look forward to aside from the usual winter storage.

To bad the software update can't be done without bringing the car into the dealership like the other updates I have seen happen in my car. I wonder why that is?

Likely because it’s a safety initiated recall, requiring direct action. This will be more expeditious than waiting for it to be pushed via OTA.

My Eco-Boost was build in June, and I haven't received any notification. I have, however, received two known software updates, and have not had the malady in any case.

I've had all or portions of the CENTER screen go black occasionally, but thankfully never the left screen. Yeah that would be a problem!
